Review: Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress

Did you know that, on average, the lifespan of a mattress is roughly seven years, so it’s recommended you change your mattress every six to eight years to make sure it’s offering the support you need to get the best shut-eye possible.

Like many people, we have been putting off getting a new mattress for some time as ours is over ten years old, but with both my husband and I starting to struggle with aches and pains we knew it was something we needed to get sorted.

We were invited to review the Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress, which has an advanced 8-layer hybrid design, created with premium materials. It has been meticulously engineered by orthopaedic experts to provide a pain-free sleeping experience.

Finding the perfect mattress is tricky, I am at that stage of life where I feel like a fully functioning radiator, whilst my husband seems to really feel the cold. Thankfully, we both prefer a firm mattress.

When ordered our mattress, we were able to specify a day we wanted it delivered, which is helpful when you have a busy work schedule and the day before the delivery, we got a two hour window for when the mattress would arrive.

The mattress arrived vacuum packed, so appeared fairly small, but don’t be fooled – it was extremely heavy and took two of us to manoeuvre upstairs.

The best way to unpack the mattress is to lay horizontally on the bed base, remove the packaging and roll it into position. Let the mattress expand for a few minutes and it is soon be ready for a good sleep, although it will usually take 48 to 72 hours for the mattress to fully inflate.

There is quite a lot of plastic packaging around the mattress, but it is really easy to pull from the mattress once it is in position.

The Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress stays insanely cool for up to 16 hours thanks to their one-of-a-kind SmartClimate system and their bamboo-infused wool layer is micro-threaded to increase air flow & breathability. Perfect at keeping you comfortably warm or cool.

The Origin HexaGrid Plus Material provides the support, and there is 30% more pressure relief across your entire body by adapting to its shape and distributing pressure more evenly. The mattress offers more support in the centre third of the mattress, where your bodyweight is concentrated for a healthier & stronger back.

The mattress is also engineered with twice-tempered titanium springs, making each spring unbelievably sturdy and durable – yet so fine that you can’t tell they’re there.

Our Verdict

What a difference!!

The mattress gives just the right amount of support and we have both started having a more comfortable and restful nights sleep. I had been struggling with waking several times in the night, which I assumed was hormone related as I am peri-menopausal, but since having the mattress I have been sleeping much better.

The Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress costs from £529.00 and also comes with a 200 day money back guarantee and thanks to the team at Origin, you can get a £20 discount by using code: Kara20OFF0864 – visit originmattress.co.uk/product/the-origin-hybrid-pro-mattress/
