Happy New Year!!
I was in two minds about starting Project 365 for another year, especially as we are now so much busier with work and various clubs, however, this year needs documenting with Sebby finishing Year 6 and heading off to secondary school and Isaac finishing Year 11 and off to sixth form / college.
Here is our first week of the new year:
Monday 1st January
After being open on Boxing Day, Tesco was strangely closed on New Years Day, so I got a bonus day off.
It was a day of tidying, taking down the Christmas decorations and playing games. I was on course to win Horrible Histories until Sebby managed to get a chance card and moved me back to last place.
Tuesday 2nd January
Kian didn’t come home for Christmas as he managed to pick up a nasty bug over Christmas, so we headed to Bristol to see him. After he had unwrapped his presents, we headed to Cribbs Causeway to try (and failed) to spend Christmas money and enjoy a spot of lunch.
The journey to Bristol was very wet, but home was worse with a weather warning for high winds. We were a bit shocked to see a huge lorry blown over on the way into Bath.
Wednesday 3rd January
Isaac and Eliza were both back to school, but Sebby was happy that he had an inset day and snuggled up on the sofa to watch films with Lilah.
Thursday 4th January
A rare day off to myself with everyone back to work / school so I popped up to see my friend Tracy. Her cats, Alfie and O’Malley actually came to see me for a cuddle – normally they ignore me.
Friday 5th January
I am getting a bit fed up of all this rain again, it just doesn’t seem to want to stop. I walked the kids to school and had to get changed into dry uniform as it was so wet.
Saturday 6th January
What a difference a day makes. Isaac and Eliza had their first volunteer session on Brownsea Island of the year and had glorious sunshine all day.
Sunday 7th January
My sister-in-law is due to have a baby at the end of this month, so we headed to Heather’s Tea Rooms for her baby shower.
I am not normally a fan of afternoon tea, but the amount of food was just right. It was a fun afternoon of games and giggles and I can’t wait to meet the new addition to the family.
Monday 8th January
It’s all back to normal so a work day for me.
Chelsea has been struggling to settle Barney so put out a facebook request for a Rockit – luckily I knew someone with one they don’t use, so posted it up to her. Let’s hope it works.
We finished the evening with some snow – very unusual for Bournemouth.
Tuesday 9th January
The snow didn’t amount to much, but some settled on cars and the school roof.
I have been struggling with peri-menopause symptoms over the last few weeks and decided I need some pampering and booked myself a hair cut and colour.
My hair had got quite blonde, so decided to go for a darker colour underneath and have some highlights and low lights put through the top – I love it!!
Wednesday 10th January
My first day back at preschool and a new term means new students.
It was a very busy day, settling in the newbies but I think they all enjoyed themselves.
Thursday 11th January
January means no overtime, so had another day off, although I did head to a local primary school to do a cheque presentation for the community grant they won at the end of last year and to see what they spent their money on.
Friday 12th January
The end of year means that I have to collate all the previous years information and update my notice boards at work, so I had a day of making posters.
Saturday 13th January
One of my colleagues is on holiday, so I covered both shift and her late night.
The daytime was busy, but as the evenings are cold, it was very quiet, so spent the evening cleaning and tidying. My only picture was of the foodbank board to put it on our facebook page.

Oh no! That’s a shame that Kian was poorly over Christmas. All of that rain was rubbish.

Wow what a year you have! I love the look of the cream tea. It is my all-time favourite thing to. have.
Always nice to treat yourself at the hairdressers. I’m like you, not usually fussed about afternoon teas ( the sandwiches are always too fussy). Such miserable weather – so much rain, and the wind here has just been non stop til this week. Hopefully we’ll get some drier weather for a bit longer now.
January weather is rubbish isn’t it – touch wood it’s been dry but cold for us (kids are wishing for snow!)

I really could do with a good cut and colour but finding someone to trust is putting me off, love the under colour you’ve had done. I love a good afternoon tea but being gluten free I find it can be a bit dry and boring so tend to avoid them these days. A lot of rain for us over the new year and we were down Bristol/Bath over new year, it was horrible weather. Glad Kian was better and up for a visit. Well done with the fundraising at work.

I love an afternoon tea as well but I have found that I usually regret eating all the sugary sweet things. I desperately need to go the the hairdressers and seeing your lovely hair colour has reminded me that I really should make an appointment.
Love the Gromits at Cribbs Causeway. Wow the winds must have been strong to have blown that lorry over. Hope no-one was hurt. Sebby looks very happy snuggled up with Lilah on his inset day.
