This weeks theme has been rain, which is to be expected for this time of year.
The Christmas decorations have gone up at work, but it is still so mild that it doesn’t feel like Christmas is on its way. I have managed to buy a few Christmas presents this week though, so that is a start.
Here is our week:
Sunday 13th November
I arrived at work to find the Christmas decorations had gone up overnight.
We used to have a huge 10ft Christmas tree, but it has now been replaced by a more eco friendly cardboard one that can be recycled.
Monday 14th November
Lilah had yet another toy to review – a Peppa Pig Smart Tablet.
She loved pressing all the buttons, but I was disappointed there is no volume control, as it is rather loud – I don’t miss noisy toys!!!!
Tuesday 15th November
Rain, rain and more rain – why is it always at school run time?????
Thankfully I managed to find some shelter for the worst of it and we were treated to a beautiful rainbow once it had finished.
Wednesday 16th November
The rain theme continues and instead of just showers, it seemed never-ending today.
We were invited to Marwell for the launch of their new Christmas lights display and the rain did not stop once.
The lights were gorgeous, but it was such a shame that it was so wet – despite umbrella’s and coats, we were all soaked through by the end of the evening, plus Eliza managed to slip over and hurt her wrist!
Thursday 16th November
I sent the kids to school as normal, but got a phone call to come and collect Eliza as her wrist was still hurting. A phone call to 111 and our second visit of the year to Wimborne Treatment Centre get an X-Ray.
Thankfully it is just a sprain, so she just has to rest it.
Friday 17th November
Willow started to shed last week, but today when we came downstairs, the skin on her back was almost off.
The new skin on her back is now a much darker shade of blue / grey now.
Saturday 18th November
We were invited to a friends birthday party today and typically, Eliza had nothing to wear, so we headed out shopping.
I am not keen on clothes shopping at the best of times, but there was a distinct lack of nice clothes for tween / teens. Everything is all brown or pink. We eventually found a playsuit in Tesco of all places.
Sebby, in the meantime, was invited out with a friend and went climbing at Rockreef, where he finally managed to get to the top of a climbing wall.
How was your week?
I am actively trying to avoid noisy toys now…had forgotten how annoying they can be!
A shame it rained so much and Eliza hurt her wrist. Glad it wasn’t broken though!
I have also noticed how hard it is to find nice clothes for teens!
That eco friendly Christmas tree is such a good idea. There has been so much rain this week but it looks like it didn’t stop your fun at Marwell. x
Glad it was just a sprain for Eliza’s wrist. The climbing walls look fun. Shame about the Christmas lights being wet. We’re going next Saturdaty to Blenheim so I’m hoping the rain holds off that day
Sorry to hear about Eliza’s wrist again. Well done Sebby with the climbing it looks a tough climb. Our decorations go up this weekend, loving the recyclable tree in the store. I’m looking forward to seeing all the Christmas lights around
Lilah looks like she’s enjoying playing with the Peppa Pig tablet but not so good that it doesn’t have any volume control – hopefully it does have an off button though! We’ve certainly had a lot of rain lately. Love the Christmas lights at Marwell. Sorry to hear that Eliza hurt her wrist, hope it is better now. What an interesting photo of Willow shedding her skin. #project365
I quite like the recyclable card Christmas tree but can’t imagine having one at home as it would ruin the fun of decorating (great for a workplace though!) #project365
