I am working pretty much full time at the moment as I am covering an absence at work, which means my blog work has been almost non-existent this week, as I am too tired, or too busy ferrying the kids to their various clubs.
COVID19 cases are rising in our school again, this time the teachers seem to be the ones catching it and some of the kids have had it for the second and third time. I have also been pinged, so back doing the LFT tests again.
Here is our week:
Sunday 6th March
Although we did a lot over half term, we never managed to make it out for a walk, so with no swimming commitments we headed to Studland for a bracing walk.
We normally head to Middle Beach, but fancied a change, so walked South Beach instead where the kids collected shells and mermaid’s purses along the shoreline.
We have kayaked along this stretch of beach before and have seen the ruined lookout from the water, but we actually got to climb up and explore it.
We then drove into Swanage where we treated the kids to a visit to the arcade and an ice cream. I do think a warming hot chocolate would have been more appropriate though.
Monday 7th March
I got a phone call at work to say that Isaac’s glasses were ready for collection, so took him to pick them up after school.
The only problem with the optician being inside Tesco, is that he managed to con me into buying him a couple of new tops too!!
Tuesday 8th March
It is really starting to feel like spring and I love seeing the daffodils on our estate. They really brighten your mood on a miserable day.
Wednesday 9th March
Our Indian Flower Mantis is getting big now and when we feed her, we love to watch her sway from side to side.
She hasn’t had her first shed yet, but we are hoping it will be soon as she is getting quite big. We cannot wait to see what colour her wings will be.
Thursday 10th March
A really hectic day as we had three parents evenings, with two different schools to contend with online.
Eliza and Sebby’s were straight forward as only one teacher, but Isaac’s took over an hour and a half as we had to speak to all his different subject teachers as he is choosing his options next month. Thankfully, all his teachers were gave a glowing report and were all trying to talk him into their subjects.
Friday 11th March
Easter is around the corner, which means donation requests are flooding in at work.
Most people collect from the store, but I did manage to get out to Hope Farm Alpaca Rescue to donate some for their Easter egg hunt.
Saturday 12th March
Finally a day off and some blue sky!
Unfortunately, it was a day of sorting washing and running errands, but I did manage to get the kids outside to take some pictures of some outdoor toys we have been sent to review.
How was your week?
I hope work calms down a little for you soon.
What a gorgeous beach for a walk and Issac looks fab in his new glasses.
The parents evenings do sound hectic. It is hard work when they are in secondary school. We went to my youngest girls one at school a while ago and it took a good few hours. x
Sounds like a good and busy week, the weather looks idyllic with you. I do miss not living near a beach, I miss the sea.
Lovely to have a walk along the beach and an ice-cream. So lovely seeing the daffodils at this time of year – they always make me feel more cheerful too. Glad all went well with juggling the three online parents evenings. #project365
We got a jumpnit last year and I’m sure I had one similar as a kid but just couldn’t do it (Anya was a natural! must be my age…) Our school cases are rocketing including me, currently on day 9 so nearly free… #project365
Sounds like it’s been a busy week. Crikey 2 different school parent evenings on the same day. Glad it worked out ok.
I loved those old ball on a string outdoor game things. Lots of fun.
Its so tough trying to blog and work full time, I hope it gets easier for you soon. Well done kiddies on doing so well with your parent’s evenings. We have Harrys this week. That beach looks beautiful love the quietness and the beach huts.
Our parents evenings are back to face to face but I preferred virtual ones.
Looks like you had an amazing time at the beach!
