Project 365 2022 – Week 7

We started the year hopeful that 2022 was going to be so much better than the last two, it doesn’t appear to be starting that way.

We started the week with COVID and finished the week with a damaged achilles tendon and storm Eunice, bringing 100mph winds to the UK.

Here is our week:

Sunday 13th February

My first day out of isolation and typically still had to stay in as the kids have COVID. Thankfully I did manage to escape briefly to pick up some supplies at Tesco – it was overrun with Valentine’s flowers!

Monday 14th February

Back to work for me and it was very clear that I had been missed as I had a lot to sort out.

We didn’t do anything special for Valentine’s as I worked an early shift and my husband a late night because of childcare, but he did buy me some flowers.

Tuesday 15th February

My husband was day off, so I did a long day at work, finishing all the bits I didn’t get done the day before. I also met our new store manager, who seemed nice.

We have lost a few fish in the last week, so he cleaned out the fish tank to see if that helps.

Wednesday 16th February

Both Eliza and Sebby finally tested negative today, so if they test negative tomorrow, they can go back to school.

For her last day of isolation, Eliza was sent a card to decorate which kept her occupied for hours and looks amazing.

Thursday 17th February

Back to school – woohoo!!

It didn’t last long though. Eliza fell off some play equipment in the playground and couldn’t weight bear on her right leg, so I was called to pick her up. A visit to the Urgent Treatment Centre later in the day, revealed that she had damaged her achilles tendon!

Storm Eunice was heading our way and our area was put under a red, danger to life, weather warning for the next day, so we had emails from both the kids schools to say that they would be closed.

Friday 18th February

Storm Eunice rolled in and by 10am, the winds were battering the house with branches hitting our windows as they were blown off the trees behind the house.

The kids were fascinated by the storm and we spotted this poor squirrel clinging on to a broken branch for about 3 hours. It must have been exhausted.

We escaped relatively unscathed with the loss of a fence panel and our trampoline net, but it is definitely a day we will remember, mainly for all the tik tok videos of flying wheelie bins and trampolines!

Saturday 19th February

The first official day of half term and we took the kids to the Tank Museum in Bovington.

They all found the tank named “Little Willie” hilarious and had lots of fun looking at all the models that were also on display alongside the tanks.

It has been a few years since our last visit and there is so much more for the kids to see and do. They especially loved the 1940’s area, complete with a shop selling rations, a living room and an air raid shelter.

We have a busy week planned, so fingers crossed Eliza is off her crutches very soon!!

  1. Oh no! What a rough week. I am glad the kids tested negative and have gone back to school. Poor Eliza, I hope she isn’t in too much pain.
Aww! That poor squirrel. The TikTok videos were fab though. x
