I am not sure where the last two weeks have gone, but I have barely had time to blog.
Things are changing here, with clubs starting up again and nights moving around. Eliza is now in Scouts with Isaac and Sebby has moved up to Cubs. Eliza has also started Branksome Surf Life Saving, Parkour and Synchro, so we are back to the juggle.
COVID is big news here, with kids dropping like flies in both Sebby and Eliza’s class, thankfully it seems to have avoided us but I have a feeling it is only a matter of time now.
Here is our last two weeks:
Sunday 10th October
Today is Eliza’s first day at Branksome Surf Life Saving. They do their winter training at Poole High School, but in the summer they are based at the beach.
The weather was glorious, so we headed up the road to Poole Park whilst she was swimming.
She enjoyed her first session, but is hoping to move to an earlier one so is with her friends.
Monday 11th October
My day to look after Lilah. Funds are a little tight after spending so much money keeping my car on the road, so we headed to the local Sang for a walk and a cheeky ice cream.
Tonight was Eliza’s first session at Scouts and she absolutely loved it, possibly because they were at the local scout centre and got to do trampolining.
Tuesday 12th October
Another day with Lilah as her other Nanny is away. Today I decided to head to Wimborne Model Town, as it is somewhere I keep saying I want to visit, but never get there.
Wimborne Model Town and Gardens is a 1/10th scale model of 1950’s Wimborne with over 100 shops to see, including the iconic Woolworths and we both really enjoyed our visit, spending a good couple of hours exploring.
Wednesday 13th October
Back to work at the preschool for me.
The kids adore button, our praying mantis and take it in turns to feed it. They have now worked out that it does a little dance before it catches its prey.
Thursday 14th October
A work day for me, but my husband was day off. His car went in for a service, but he wasn’t told it was on a recall, so I had to go and pick him up, so he could get home in time to pick the kids up from school – not a bad day to wander around Poole.
Friday 15th October
We have had some absence at work, so I was asked to work the late night and cover. As my husband was off, we made the most of it and headed out for a breakfast treat.
Work was uneventful and it was lovely seeing colleagues I used to work with back in lockdown.
Saturday 16th October
My husband is working in deepest, darkest, Dorset at the moment and has seen all sorts of weather on his drive to work. This was Cranborne Chase looking beautiful in the mist.
Sunday 17th October
Another work day for me and I have to admit that it has left me feeling exhausted.
Eliza does synchronised swimming on a Sunday evening and tonight was my turn to take her and her friend. It is lovely to be able to watch her swim again.
Monday 18th October
Back to having Lilah and we headed to Lemur Landings to my networking group. Lilah was most impressed with her cake.
This is our second visit now and she was much happier with her surroundings and was confident to play alongside other children.
Tuesday 19th October
A work day for me, but I headed out to help support one of our local charities, who pick up our good quality surplus food in the evenings.
It was a real eye opener for me, seeing how much work goes into each session and how many people they support.
Wednesday 20th October
After work and school we headed to our local B&M on the hunt for some Cats Vs Pickles collectibles, which the kids love.
Despite the website saying they had stock, they didn’t, so we came away disappointed. I did spot a Christmas gonk that I want to buy though.
Thursday 21st October
Sebby left Beavers last month and absolutely loves Cubs as they do more hands-on activities. Today he was finally invested into the pack and I was invited in to watch.
Being the youngest member of the family, I often find Sebby can be quite shy, so I was really proud when he spoke so loud and clear with his scout law and promise.
Friday 22nd October
My last day at work and the kids last day at school before we all have a week off for half term.
I got out of work to find a huge gull on top of my car. It was a little intimidating and didn’t move until I started driving off.
In the evening, Eliza had her first parkour session at Project Climb in Poole. She had done it with school before COVID and really enjoyed it, despite finding it rather tricky after a 2 year break.
Saturday 23rd October
The first day off and we enjoyed a chilled day at home, catching up on washing and housework. We watched Jungle Cruise on Disney+ with some popcorn, which we all really enjoyed.
I ordered the kids changing robes a few weeks ago, but they got stuck on a container somewhere and finally arrived today. I ordered small adults rather than kids so they would last – they’re huge…….even fitting my husband and I. At least they will last!!
How was your week?
Congrats to Sebby being invested. I am looking forward to Zach starting Beavers next year as the other two have dropped out. I’ve seen adverts for Jungle Cruise and hope to watch it before our subscription ends. #project365
The weather looks wonderful in Poole, glad you’ve been able to make the most of it. I had an icecream on Plymouth seafront last week. The model village looks like a great place to visit. That gull sure is brave.
Sounds like a busy couple of weeks. Lilah is looking so grown up now!
wow what a busy couple of weeks no wonder you haven’t got round to doing any blogging for a while. I hope the kids are still avoiding the covid germs it has been similar here. Those dry robes look amazing I have been after some for the kids but they are so expensive! Well done Sebby on getting invested.
Glad Eliza enjoyed her first sessions with the surf lifesaving and at Scouts. The model village looks like a lovely place to visit and Lilah looked like she enjoyed it. That cooked breakfast looks very yummy. Sounds like you’ve had a busy time at work lately. Lovely photo of Sebby at his Cubs investment, glad he is enjoying it. Those changing robes are huge! #project365
