Project 365 2021 – Week Thirty Three

It dawned on me this week that school is starting in a couple of weeks, so I have made a start on buying new shoes.

I am hoping to get away without buying new uniform if possible, but Isaac needs some new school trousers and Eliza has had a bit of a growth spurt over the summer, so we will need a couple of bits.

It was the last of the family birthday’s for the year, with Kian turning 21. It was lovely to see him, as he has been away from home for 4 months now, choosing not to come home for the summer.

Here is our week:

Monday 16th August

It is back to my normal working pattern this week, so we were back to looking after Lilah today. We have been sorting out Eliza’s bedroom ready for a sleepover and she came across a pair of Pudsey ears, which Lilah took a shine to.

The weather wasn’t great, but we did manage to make it out to the local park.

Tuesday 17th August

Finally a nice day, so I decided to book tickets to visit our local sunflower trail at Maiden Castle Farm in Dorchester.

There are two trails to wander through, which let you get up close and personal with their beautiful sunflowers and all the creatures that inhabit them.

Plus a question and answer trail about bees and sunflowers, to give the kids a chance to learn something new and win a prize.

It was a really lovely day out with a difference and we brought some home too, to brighten up the lounge.

Wednesday 18th August

After decorating our dining room a few weeks ago, our next project is the kitchen and we made a start on it today.

Sadly, we cannot afford to replace it entirely, but am hoping a lick of paint will brighten it up.

Thursday 19th August

I realised that we are hurtling towards the start of a new school term, so braved the shops and got the kids feet measured.

Eliza got some new school shoes back in June and luckily hasn’t grown, but Sebby has jumped up two sizes and Isaac one size, so both needed new school shoes.

Coming out of Clarks, we bumped into a man holding an owl. He was brilliant with the kids and was telling them all about him and that he runs experience days…….guess what they want to do now!

Friday 20th August

Kian is 21!!

Unfortunately, we couldn’t see him on his actual birthday, as he is living in Bristol, but he told us his flatmates exploded a confetti cannon at him when he got up and bought him a birthday cake.

Our kitchen is coming on, we still need another coat and to touch up the coving, but I love the colour.

Saturday 21st August

We finally got to go and wish Kian a Happy Birthday and took him out for lunch in Bristol, complete with a chocolate overload cake made by my friend Michelle from Sculpted Bakes.

Sadly the weather in Bristol put pay to any ideas about going out and we ended up mooching around the shops, but it was nice to spend some time together.

Sunday 22nd August

Another work day for me, so the kids went to play at Abbey’s house. Eliza managed to blag herself some new clothes in Primark, whilst Sebby enjoyed the park with Lilah.

  3. Happy Birthday Kian, that’s a cake and a half, hope you saved me some. Sadly we can’t paint our kitchen as it’s 24 years old and after 10 years of tenants it’s taken a battering. Love the sunflower dress and the picture of the tractor and trailer.
