Project 365 2021: Week Nineteen

I have to admit that it has been a bit of a rubbish week.

My laptop has died, the tumble drier has too and the weather isn’t helping either.

In better news, I am now one of the 20 million people who have had both COVID vaccinations and thankfully feel fine.

Here is our week:

Sunday 9th May

At this time of year, we have a colony of Puffins that nest on the cliffs near Swanage, so we headed out to walk from Durlston Country Park to Dancing Ledge in the hope of spotting them.

Sadly we didn’t see them, but did see hundreds of guillemots nesting on the cliffs, or bobbing around on the water. I have got pictures, but they are on my laptop.

The kids really enjoyed the walk and exploring new caves, although there were definitely some tired legs at the end of the six mile walk.

Monday 10th May

I am back to having Lilah, after a couple of weeks off and was hoping to take her out. The weather hasn’t been great, with lots of rain, but she has discovered the delights of jumping in muddy puddles, so was more than happy.

Tuesday 11th May

Another day with Lilah, but she wasn’t feeling well, so we didn’t venture far.

This is the first week I have had Lilah since Kian went back to university and she was most unimpressed by his absence. She kept going to the stairs saying “where’s Coco”.

Wednesday 12th May

I worked in the pre-school in the morning and planned a day of catching up on blogging and emails.

Sadly, it was not meant to be as my laptop froze and then showed an error message when I tried to restart it.

After googling fixes, I attempted to get it back, but nothing worked so I booked it in for a repair.

My only picture from today is Sebby getting a lift up to bed.

Thursday 13th May

Why do things always go wrong together – today it’s the tumble drier which is making a strange noise and a burning smell.

I took my laptop in for repair and they seem confident that it can be fixed – just waiting for the full diagnosis.

I have been testing out some no-bits bread with Britmums and made myself yummy cheese on toast for lunch – with Worcestershire Sauce too, of course!!

Friday 14th May

My long day at Tesco, with my husband home to pick up the kids from school.

He has been itching to buy a new fish tank since he started working at Pets at Home and now he had his discount card, he came home with one this week.

Let’s just say it took a while to fill!!

Saturday 15th May

Another work day for me, so the kids helped my husband to set up the fish tank now the water has settled

I finished work early to have my COVID vaccination. The appointment didn’t start well as someone had a reaction to theirs, which made me a little nervous.

After the first one not hurting, I was surprised that this one stung, but I think I was probably a little tense. Thankfully, apart from a mild headache, I have had no other symptoms.

I came home to the house fully decorated for the FA Cup Final – sadly we lost 1-0 to Leicester after having a last minute goal disallowed – sometimes I really hate VAR!!

  1. I love the walks you go on, it feels like you have so many places to explore on your doorstep. Sorry to hear about your laptop. You have reminded me to make sure I have backed up my work mac. Lilah really doesn’t look impressed that her playmate is missing #365

  2. Oh I would love to explore those caves myself!

Sorry to hear your laptop and tumble dryer both broke down.

Aww such a cute pic of Lilah, she certainly doesn’t look impressed that Kian isn’t there!

  3. Sorry to hear about your laptop and tumble dryer. What a shame you didn’t manage to spot the puffins. The caves look fun to explore though. Love the photo of Lilah jumping in muddy puddles. It must feel strange for her not having Kian around. Glad you’ve had your vaccine. #project365

  4. Nightmare with the laptop, hope it’s fixed now. Lilah looks even more like you in that second shot. Glad you got your second jab, I’ve got mine on Tuesday and feeling a bit apprehensive after feeling so rubbish last time. Looks like a great walk out with the family even without the puffins #365
