Zoids Wild: Blast Unleashed has launched exclusively on Nintendo Switch and is the perfect Christmas gift for fans of the anime series or young dinosaur / robot fans.
Zoidsis a global franchise that spans 35+ years, with its long running series of model kits, comics, TV shows and video games.
Dinosaurs are still a big thing in our house and the brand new Zoids Wild: Blast Unleashed game on the Nintendo Switch is a huge hit with Sebby as it features battles with robotic dinosaurs and other animals.
A zoid is a large mechanical animal, with designs being based on animals; including dinosaurs, insects, arachnids and mythological creatures.
We were sent the game to review, plus a battle box containing Zoids trading cards, stickers and badges.
Zoids Wild: Blast Unleashed follows the exploits of Arashi and Team Freedom as he and his friends fight against the evil Dark Metal Empire.
The main gameplay is a 1v1 3D arena fight, where you and another opponent attack each other on a battlefield until someone reaches zero health.
Sebby found the game frustrating at first, but Isaac has been coaching him, explaining that you need to use strategy to defeat the enemy.
Each character has three special attacks corresponding to a light, heavy, and a guard breaker attack. You can also dodge, and pressing R while pressing a respective button will allow you to use your special attack, but these are limited so use them wisely. The controls are simple to master, allowing you to easily chain moves and devastate opponents with your final blast.
In the Vs mode, you can do head to head against their friends. The Mission Mode has been divided into two sections, Continuous Battle and Story, so you can switch up your game play and understand move of the story.
It didn’t take too long for Sebby to get the hang of the game and now all I hear are squeals of delight when he beats his opponent.
Zoids Wild: Blast Unleashed is available from all good games retailers for an RRP of £39.99

This sounds like a great game for kids to be able to play. I love how the switch comes out with a range of different games for all ages.
I have always loved the story modes of this style of game! It sounds like a brilliant game for the kids, it’s nice you have to use strategies to defeat your opponents.
Sounds like a fab game. I’m tempted to get my little one a Switch but worried he’ll want it ALL the time haha.
