Going Back to the Garden with Sudocrem

As you know I’ve been working on the Back to the Garden campaign with Sudocem during lockdown. It’s a great little project that aims to encourage children to get into the garden during this period, when they can’t attend school.

We think getting outside to plant some seeds and grow herbs, vegetables and plants is a great way to pass the time, because it’s healthy, it teaches kids about where food and comes from and it’s something that they don’t normally learn about in the classroom.

Last month, I ran a competition here on my blog, where you could be in with the chance to win a gardening kit and get started on your own outdoor adventure. My one’s closed, but you can still win one on the Sudocrem website until the end of the month. Click here to enter: https://www.sudocrem.co.uk/win-a-growing-kit/

I also received my own Back to the Garden gardening kit in the post last week and Sebby was keen to get into the garden to plant his seeds.

In our house we already have some projects going in the garden, including some herb pots, a butterfly and fairy garden and strawberries, peppers and radishes.

We’re really looking forward to enjoying the fruits of our labour once our seeds have grown, especially the strawberries.

If you want some inspiration for projects you could do at home, you can have a look on the Sudocrem website for activities recommended by professional gardeners from all over the country. We particularly liked the easy bug hotel and have loved discovering the creatures that call our garden their home, including a toad, field mouse and a family of blue tits as well as the mini beasts.

Are you looking to get back to the garden this summer? Not only is a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors but a wonderful learning opportunity for the whole family.

Give it a go yourself and let me know how it goes!

  1. We’re still on lockdown and my son has video chats with school staff every day. Yesterday we were talking about fruits and vegetables and I got to see video of the school garden and my son working in it. He seems to really enjoy it.

  2. With the weather being so nice, it’s always nice to be out in the garden and it’s nice to encourage the kids to get involved as well x

  3. We have spent so much time out in the garden recently and it’s been wonderful. We have been planting raspberry bushes – this is a great kit and such a great idea too.
