Hello and welcome to this weeks Project 365.
It has been a horrible week weather wise, with the disappearance of the lovely sunny weather, to cold wet and miserable, which has affected everyone’s moods.
After the excitement of a birthday last week, it has been back down to earth with a bump.
Sunday 26th April
The first Sunday I haven’t worked since lockdown started and it although it will affect our income it was lovely to spend a whole day with the family.
We enjoyed a lovely long walk on the Heath and the kids were delighted when one of the local residents decided to try and join us.
Eliza and I were the only ones brave enough to give him a stroke though.
The kids also enjoyed a rather competitive game of “it” which was great to watch as they have spent quite a bit of time bickering recently.
With the walk giving the kids a good appetite, we treated them to a Barbecue and then made S’Mores over the firepit.
I think Sebby enjoyed them a little too much!!!
Monday 27th April
A really miserable day. The weather was atrocious so we didn’t leave the house. The kids did do their homework for the day and Isaac made a cell from a balloon, water and a grape and then made a beating heart, which was an experiment set we had been sent to review.
It certainly felt like the kids spent far too much time on technology today, although they did attempt a game of monopoly, which ended up in a few strops so they soon gave up.
Tuesday 28th April
Another miserable day. We have been so lucky with the weather during lockdown, having to spend time indoors is horrible. My husband and Kian have been dropping hints for ages about me making my lemon and lime drizzle cake and we have finally managed to find some flour, so Isaac helped me with the baking.
He did a great job and we only enjoyed the fruits of our labours afterwards. In fact the cake didn’t last the day!!
Wednesday 29th April
Today was a very exciting day indeed. Sebby had completed all his school work and was happily chomping on an apple when his first tooth fell out!!
Sebby was a little worried that the tooth fairy wouldn’t be able to come and see him, but we checked and found out that she is a Key Worker, so he wrote her a letter and popped his tooth under his pillow.
After two days stuck in the house, we took advantage of a brief break in the weather and did our Pokemon Go Walk around our estate. We did get caught in a light shower but it wasn’t too bad.
Thursday 30th April
Sebby finally managed to evolve his Feebas, which he has had to do by walking with it as a buddy for 20km! He was also rather excited that we got photobombed by another Pokemon.
Sebby and Eliza’s teachers made them a photo collage featuring a lovely stay safe message, so we decided to club together in their classes and send one back.
Friday 1st May
Sebby had a spelling test to do with his classmates on Spelling Shed and when that had finished, us parents had arranged a zoom chat so the kids could see each other.
It ended up being a bit of a show and tell, but the kids loved chatting to each other and have all now exchanged their gamer tags for Roblox. Getting work done afterwards was a challenge though!
I promised Sebby that we would make some chocolate muffins if he got his work done and both he and Eliza loved measuring the ingredients and mixing them together.
Eliza enjoyed licking the bowl afterwards too!
Sebby had asked for jaffa cake muffins, so we decorated them with icing and pieces of jaffa cakes. They look and taste fantastic!!
It was work for me in the evening and it’s the busiest I have been in the evening. It was definitely my most challenging shift I have had, but it was fun nonetheless.
Saturday 2nd May
Another day of iffy weather, but we did manage to get out for a short walk.
Work is getting frustrating, people seem to think that lockdown is over and are out trying to shop as families. They know our rule of one person per household, so split themselves us in the queue and then meet up in the aisles.
How has your week been?
We have felt the same with the change in weather. There has been less cheery smiles and more scowls here.
It must have been nice to have a Sunday with the family. The walk sounds nice.
Yum! The smores do look good. Sebby really does look like he’s enjoying his.
The heart experiment looks interesting!
What a relief that the tooth fairy is a key worker. Phew!
Lovely photos x
loving the rainbow clothes.
I have that green bowl that came with a whole load inside it.
I find the problem with zoom is everybody tries to talk at once, but nice to see their friends faces.
Playing Monopoly when we were kids was about the only thing that did not cause arguments in our house, maybe cos it got confiscated off of us if we started fighting.
That is very annoying that people are starting to behave like that in the supermarket. Lovely photos of the kids this week. It must have been very exciting for Sebby to lose his first tooth. Those muffins look particularly delicious!
It sounds like you have had a nice week with lots of family time and both your lemon drizzle and the muffins look delicious! We have been baking too and the kids have been using their maths skills to weigh out the ingredients.
My little girl has a zoom call with her teacher and classmates on Tuesday which she is very excited about but I think she might go a bit shy once she actually see’s everyone on screen lol!
It must be so frustrating seeing people flouting the rules, I don’t even work in the shops and it frustrates the hell out of me! I just can’t understand why people are so blasé about it all. When we went on out daily walk yesterday there were groups of people sat drinking on the field, having picnics etc! Its crazy!
I love this diary of your lockdown week. We enjoy similar things with a walk and a game of it. Unfortunately the weather hasn’t been that great hear either, I am aiming for our first BBQ of the year in the coming weeks for my daughters birthday. Stay safe.
What a fantastic week you have had even with the cooler weather. Just like you I am bribing the kids with homemade cakes to get them out for longer walks. The zoom session sounds like a lot of fun as well especially since they are all missing each other.
Looks like a lovely week with barbecues, cake making and even a visit from the Tooth Fairy!
Oh that’s so frustrating with people doing that in stores. People have been complaining about people doing that, in our local town’s FB group.
N gave up on his year group zoom – 8-10 kids was just too much for him. Lucky that the tooth fairy is still working at this time.
Despite having to work around the weather – I can’t wait for it to get better as well – this sounds like you made it into a lovely week!
Aw I am loving all your piccys. Looks like you and your family are making the most of things and getting some fresh air which is good to see xx
it’s good to see them enjoying pokemon go – and it looked like they had a good time baking too. Homeschooling kids is hard so well done for you all getting though the week.
Looks like you had a good week, so many different activities completed. Baking has been one of the things that we have been doing more of during lockdown.
Oh how lovely of the horse coming to say hello! My girls would have loved that.
The weather has meant the kids spent more time on electronics..Didn’t like that to be honest.
Love the horse coming over to say hello while you were all out on your lovely family walk. The weather wasn’t so great last week and we found it affected our moods too. How excited for Sebby to lose his first tooth. Love the look of the jaffa cake muffins. Hope you are enjoying the lovely weather this week. #project366
Sounds like a lovely week and I know what you mean about the weather, I’ve been outside as much as possible. The baking looks like it was a lot of fun, phew on the tooth fairy being a key worker, my great nephew lost a tooth and his mum and dad didn’t have any coins on them so we social distanced a letter and £2 through the post
Lovely pictures. That’s a beautiful horse (or pony). OoOooo barbecue and smores. The beating heart set looks so cool! That’s quite an efficient tooth fairy. How cute of Sebby to write a letter. That photobombing looks planned. I love licking the bowl afterwards as well. The muffins look delicious.
we have been enjoying time in the kitchen. Losing a first tooth is so exciting, we haven’t had a wobbly one in ages 🙁 #project366
It’s certainly easier for lockdown when it’s nicer weather. I can’t understand those who want to go shopping with family – in my eyes there’s nothing worse as I prefer to just get it done as quickly as possible. You’d think they’d want a break from each other.
Gosh, I have followed you since Sebby was a baby, I can’t believe he’s loosing his baby teeth! Lovely to meet the horses too on a walk. #project365 (sorry it’s late)
Your daughter looks so like you in those photos. The weather has had a change. THe baking is great fun and tasty too. Glad the tooth fairy is a key worker, we had that here too xxx
I love that first picture with the horse! It’s SO beautiful!! 🙂
