Owls are my favourite type of bird and my love of them has definitely rubbed off on the kids.
Having an owl as a pet just isn’t an option sadly, so we have opted for the next best thing, teaching our very own baby owl how to fly.
Owleez is a new interactive toy, which is bound to be top of children’s Christmas lists for this year.
Owleez needs your help to learn how to fly and in the box is the owl, some berries and a nest.
Setting Owleez up
Owleeze comes with a USB charger at the base of its nest.
Simply plug it in and wait for its eyes to change from flashing red to green. Ours took around 15 minutes on the first charge, so not a long wait at all.
Once Owleez is charged, you need to practice flying together by swinging and swooping the owl through the air, which results in it making triumphant and happy noises.
With enough practice, Owleez will be ready to fly and when they are ready, they let you know with rainbow flashing eyes and a little tune. Pop it back in its nest and it will attempt to fly……….the more you practice the better it gets, although when it fails you do have to comfort it.
Owleez eyes light up for different moods and respond to your touch.
- White Eyes: Ready to Play
- Yellow Eyes: I am Hungry – Feed me my berry food accessory
- Blue Eyes: I am cold – Hold my forehead to warm me up
- Red Eyes: I am sad – Pet my head
- Green Eyes: I am gassy – pick me up and pat my back
- Orange Eyes: I am dizzy – Pick me up and pat my back
- Purple Eyes: I am singing – Swing me side to side to hear me sing
- Pink Eyes: I love you – Pet my head
- Rainbow Eyes: I am ready to fly – Put me in my nest and watch me fly
It is a very cute toy as it responds to your actions with cute sounds as you play, plus it will even sing and dance to its own beat. Once it has learned to fly, there is a button on the back to reset the Owleez, so you can train it again from scratch.
My only issue with it, is it take a long time to learn to fly, although the kids have outstanded me with their perseverance, and you need LOTS of clear space. Our house has a long but narrow front room and wherever I position the owl, it always crashes into furniture when it takes off. I have tried it on the bed, however, even with a solid book base to launch from, any slight angle and it won’t fly.
Owleez is available in pink and white, from all good toy shops priced at £49.99

Oh wow, this looks so cute! When I was a kid I was obsessed with my Furby and this kind of reminds me of that but for a new generation. I bet my niece and nephew would love one of these for Christmas.
Well this most defintely has christmas favourite written all over it and seems a much more reasonable price than some previous christmas must haves!
Very cute x
Wow! They come up with all sorts of crazy ideas for toys. I can see the kids having a lot of fun with this.
Now I can see this being a must want for Christmas! It seems like a bit of a new take on a Furby – much cuter for sure!

Remember when people went crazy for hatchimals? I reckon this will be just the same. It’s pretty cool though, my younger ones would love it
What a fantastic Christmas Gift Idea this is! I know my daughter who loves owls would adore this and a great price for it too.
What a great Christmas present this would make, it’s that there’s something a bit more aimed at girls that you can fly as all the planes and drones seem more geared towards boys (not that it really matters) x
Boys can play with these to!!! My brother loves playing with it !
The video is so cute and definitely love anything interactive like this! Owls are so cute and I may just have to get my nephew one of these
I bet these are super popular this Christmas, they certainly look very cute. I don’t think my children would have the patience to teach it to fly, but I bet older children have lots of fun with it xx

Aww this owl is absolutely adorable. I like that the eyes change to signify different moods or feelings. Bet this will be on lots of children’s wish lists this Christmas.
Our littles haven’t mentioned them yet but I know they will ask for them once they’ve seen them!
