Isaac’s 11th Birthday Party at Dorset Adventure Park

For the last two years, Isaac and his friend Scott have had joint, action packed birthday parties at Avon Tyrell Outdoor Centre and it was always the plan to do the same again this year, however they decided that they wanted to try something new.

Last year we had Kian’s 18th Birthday at Dorset Adventure Park which is situated in the shadow of Corfe Castle in Dorset and enjoyed it so much that Isaac thought his friends would love it too.

We booked an early slot, which meant getting there for 10.15 for an 11am start, but that also meant that it was just our party on the lake.

You are advised to arrive 45 minutes before your session to get kitted up in wetsuits and buoyancy aids before your safety briefing session and this year they had an extra surprise……..the birthday boys got special rash vests to wear too.

Once the safety briefing has been completed, it is time to head to the water. There are two lakes at Dorset Adventure Park; Castle Lake with views of Corfe Castle and the Woodland Lake, which is more shaded.

Woodland Lake at Dorset Adventure Park

We started with the Woodland Lake and there were a few gasps as the kids got in the water, but they were all soon getting warm by racing around the inflatables.

What we like about the site is that they switch up the inflatables in both lakes, so none of our three visits have been the same.

This was also Sebby’s first time, as up until now he wasn’t old enough to join in.

The Woodland lake features an Action Loop of obstacles including balance beams, monkey bars and the all-time favourite flip bag.

I am so glad that Callan and Kian came along to help, as they spent most of their time on the Woodland Lake flipping Isaac and his friends up in the air, with increasing height and flair each time!!

Also with us were on the course was a lifeguard and an instructor. The lifeguard is there to make sure everyone is kept safe and the instructor is there for guidance, hints and tips.

The party spent 30 minutes playing on the Woodland Lake, before moving on to the Castle Lake.

Castle Lake

The Castle lake has a stunning view of Corfe Castle and features a another Action Loop of inflatable obstacles, including balance beams, stepping stones as well as a trampoline, slide and separate climbing obstacles.

By the time we got onto this lake, the kids had really found their “water legs” and were more confident to race around the loop and fling each other into the water.

Dorset Adventure Park

The Castle Lake features the highest points of the two lakes and is perfect for practicing jumps, flips and tricks, with Isaac and his friends managing to achieve some impressive somersaults.

Favourite inflatables on this lake were the huge slide and the trampoline.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with some of the skills on display!!

  1. That looks like a super fun time for kids! I’ve seen things like this at summer camps but not at an adventure park. Hopefully my kids will enjoy when they get a little older!

  3. I really want to do one of these as they look like so much fun but I have zero coordination so I’d spend more time in the water for sure x
