During October half term, during our stay with Al Fresco Holidays, we were lucky enough to visit Disneyland Paris to experience all the fun of Halloween.
It is not possible to visit Disneyland Paris in just one day, so we purchased an open two-day pass which meant we could visit the park twice within a 7-day period.
We planned our visit to concentrate on the Magic Kingdom first and Hollywood Studios to the second day.
Unlike the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios is not decorated for Halloween and remains as it looks for the rest of the year and our first stop was the Studio Tram Tour for behind-the-scenes look at how films are made.
I have fond memories of Callan being terrified of the dragons when he was younger and although Sebby and Isaac took it in their stride, Eliza was not keen.
It was the Toon Studio the kids could not wait to visit, with rides such as Crush’s Coaster from Finding Nemo, Toy Story Land and Ratatouille which they were still building on our last visit.
Set in its own Miniland, Place de RΓ©my looks just like it has jumped straight from the film set. The ride itself is a trackless 4D ride where you are sat in a rat shaped car and spun through a variety of 4D screens, as you try to escape from the Chef as chaos ensues around you.
Our next stop was Toy Storyland which is home to three rides; Toy Soldiers Parachute, RC Racer and Slinky Dog.
Despite looking really high, the Parachute ride was very gentle and offered lovely views over the park and was our longest queue of the day at 40 minutes. Slinky Dog was the kids favourite though and thankfully had a very short queue in comparison.
We also found Sebby’s favourites – Lightening McQueen and Mater on theΒ Cars Quatre Roues Rallye.
We did have a little surprise up our sleeves for Sebby as we didn’t tell him about who appears in theΒ Moteurs… Action! stunt spectacular show and his little face was a picture as Lightening McQueen rolled into action.
The Stunt Show was as good as I remember, with a couple of new stunts to delight the crowd.
There was action with motorbikes and cars, pretend gun fights and lots of fire!!
Sadly the kids were too small for the Hollywood Tower and the Rock n Rollercoaster, so we consoled ourselves with riding the flying carpets and laughing our way through Stitch Live.
In comparison to the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios does feel a bit neglected. Some of the rides haven’t been updated since the park opened, there were no parades during half term to enjoy and we didn’t see any characters wandering around, as we did on our last visit.
With all the rides done, we decided to head back into the Magic Kingdom to squeeze in the rides we missed a couple of days before.
We purchased 2-dayΒ tickets to Disneyland ParisΒ through Picniq as they had the best deal at the time, plus we earned 5.25% throughΒ Top Cashbackfollow, which allowed us to spend a day in each park, but it is worth shopping around as these deals change all the time.
Have you visited Disneyland Paris?
How busy was it at Halloween? We have been to Florida lots but never to Disneyland Paris and I am trying to persuade hubby!
Definitely quieter than the summer, but was still packed, especially for the night time fireworks. Around a 40 min queue for most rides
It was over ten years ago since I last visited, we really enjoyed the car show when we visited though. It looks like they have some good rides now for children, mine would love the toy story rides x
I last went to Disneyland Paris about 15 years ago and I LOVED it. My favourite thing is that it’s not really for the kids (ha) because the adults have a great time there. Your kids looked like that they had an absolute ball!
We took little T to Disney in Paris when she was four. But we only went one day! Fab idea to book two days. Would love to take her back. Looks like you guys really enjoyed Disney π
We enjoyed Hollywood Studios when we went in January but there aren’t as many rides as in the main Disneyland Paris park. Worth it for Tower of Terror and Rock N Roll rollercoaster though and the stunt action show.
Oh wow I forgot how magical it is there! I’ve not been since I was nine years old, but really look forward to taking my daughters one day π
It’s brilliant you got a deal. I love a good bargain too. I want to visit Disneyland Paris soon and need to look, so will take a look at the discounts at Picniq too.
I would love to take the girls to Disneyland Paris, I’ve never been and it looks brilliant.
This is one of my favourite places to visit! I so wanna go back and sometime soon. I hope you had an amazing time!
I would have been terrified of the dragons too!
I’ve been to Disney a few times before but I’ve not been to the studios before as I’m usually restricted to about a day and there’s never enough time x
I haven’t been to Paris Disneyland, but ToyStoryLand looks really cute! That Slinky dog ride is adorable!!
My daughters would really love to visit Disneyland, but its great to see that there would be something for my older son too. He would enjoy the film sets too
Oh I love that parachute ride! Sounds about as daring as I get (I don’t like fast rides, but gentle ones are ok!)
I’ve always wanted to visit Disney with the kids, and it looks like you guys had an amazing time. I’m so jealous! Hopefully we’ll get to go and experience this next year π
Louise x
I would love to go again! I went to Florida, but it’s so magical and wonderful. I’m glad you had a great time xx
Looks like you had a fantastic trip! Toy Story Land looks fun.
Oh wow, I’ve never been here but I’ve been toying with the idea of taking the kids one day. Love how flexible the pass is – it means one could explore the city on a break too.
I love Disneyland Paris when I went all those years ago. I canβt wait to take my kids one day.
It sounds like you had a great time and I bet it was amazing seeing how the films were made and behind the scenes! Its also fab that you are able to buy a ticket to return for an extra day too!
Love a good deal! I really like Disneyland Paris and can’t wait for the day I can take my whole family there for a little break away.
When I last visited Disneyland Paris, I too bought the 2-day pass and absolutely loved being able to explore on two days and dedicated a day to each site.
When we, me and my family and kids, visited Disneyland Paris before, we too bought the 2-day pass and we absolutely love being able to explore on two days and dedicated a day to each site.
