Squishies are all the rage in our house, with all three kids owning at least one!
Now, you can make surprise smooshy collectables again and again with brand new Smooshins! This unique new toy range brings the surprise and anticipation of “unboxing” to a whole new level with an exciting arts and crafts twist for endless smooshy fun.
With over 10,000 combinations of characters and accessories to collect, Smooshins is the only cute, colourful and collectible fidget toy! Just pop the colour pouch, squeeze the mixture into your Surprise Character mold in the Surprise Maker, leave your character to grow inside, and after 4 hours reveal which smooshy character you have made! Mix and match with new colours and surprise accessories.
The Smooshin maker requires 3 x AAA batteries (not included). Eliza could not wait to get started on creating her first Smooshin, BUT was a little to eager and wasn’t prepared.

I strongly advise that you read the instructions and set your equipment up first so you understand what you need to do as you have a limited time to create your Smooshin (you have 1 minute and 30 seconds to mix the colour pouch, and 30 seconds to squeeze the colour pouch into the Surprise Maker).

Tips on creating your Smooshin

Step 1: POP – You will need to firmly pound the colour pouch with the side of your fist to ”pop” the inner colour inside the pouch.

Step 2: MIX – Once the inner colour pouch is popped, you will have 1 minute and 30 seconds to mix the colour with the clear portion (set your timer!). Quickly pedal, swivel, swirl, and twist the pouch to get the colour completely and thoroughly mixed. There should be no clear portion remaining!

Step 3: SQUEEZE – Once you insert and lock the colour pouch into the Surprise Maker, you must work QUICKLY! You will have 30 seconds to squeeze the contents of the colour pouch into the Surprise Maker to avoid the mixture from starting to form (harden) in the pouch.

Step 4: GROW – Leave the pouch in the Surprise Maker and wait 4 hours. Do not open the Surprise Maker to disrupt the magic! Then, turn the pouch counterclockwise to unlock and pull firmly to remove and immediately discard the used pouch. Remove the mold from the Surprise Maker and leave the character inside the mold OVERNIGHT to grow. You can then begin the second mold while you wait for the first one to grow.

We made our molds in the morning and left them to set overnight and I am sad to say that they were still gooey when we opened the mold, despite leaving them 36 hours to set and we found that the mixture hadn’t filled the mold properly so we were missing an ear.

We left them in the open mold though and once the air got to them they did eventually set, which mean’t we could decorate them with the accessories included.

If you are after something that is going to keep the kids occupied for hours, this isn’t it as you can only make one at a time and the making process takes less than two minutes.

The set came with four colour pouches for four Smooshins and you can buy more separately, however we were really disappointed that ours did not work.
