Last year was our first time at Victorious Festival and we loved the laid back vibe and fabulous music.
Held on Southsea Common, Portsmouth, it’s not the largest festival we have been to, but it certainly the most reasonably priced and we love that you can sit on a hill, overlooking the sea whilst listening to fantastic music.
Last year we saw bands such as Franz Ferdinand, Olly Murs, Elbow and Stereophonics and this year is promising to be even better with The Libertines, Kaiser Chiefs, Shed Seven, Lightening Seeds, Paul Weller, Paloma Faith, The Prodigy and Years and Years all headlining throughout the weekend.
Victorious truly is a family festival and has a huge kids area is in the opposite corner to the main stage. It’s filled with community stalls filled with free activities, bouncy castles to let kids blow off steam and fun acts for them to see.
This year the Kids Arena stage will boast headline performances from Andy and the Oddsocks, who will take to the stage on the Saturday and family favourites, Cook and Line, who will headline Sundays family programme.
Families can look forward to a special performance from the Odd Sock Friends…. Rio on guitar, Blu on bass, Moxy hitting the drums and Random Keith on keys. They are all bonkers! They love telling stories and sing about all sorts of things from aliens and dinosaurs to rapping robots and even a groovy hoover.
Cook and Line, from CBeebies’ Swashbuckle, will be performing a rip-roaring pirate adventure. Full of lively songs, crowd-pleasing games and laugh-out loud comedy, their energetic and interactive performance is sure to be a big hit on this years Kids Stage.
For those looking to get up close to the action, there will be meet and greet sessions with some of the world’s biggest names in childrens entertainment, including Victorious debut appearances from, Paddington™ and Adventure Time’s, Finn and Jake, who will be at the festival on both Saturday and Sunday.
Everyone’s favourite marmalade eating bear, Paddington will be making personal appearances. Don’t forget to bring your camera as Paddington will be happy to pose for pictures! TV favourites, Jake and Finn are taking time out from battling the Ice King in the land of Ooo to visit us at Victorious Festival. Characters will be appearing at intervals on both days.
In addition to all of the big-name performances and meet and greet sessions, there will be loads of other activities taking place across the huge Kid’s Arena.
The fantastic Southampton Scrap Store gang will be teaching us how to turn all scrap and waste in to fun with arts and crafts. This years ‘Out of This World’ craft project will be building space rockets! The award winning pre – school football academy, Little Kickers, will be back giving children a positive introduction to sports and playing as a team, with games and football fun.
Children’s Parties Portsmouth will be hosting a party and everyone’s invited! So get ready to throw some shapes with a disco, dance competitions and fun games for all the family.
In the Portsmouth College Action Area (10+) you will find Game Over, Portsmouth’s only gaming console café, will be bringing their retro gaming to Victorious Kids arena. Expect something for all your retro gaming needs from Playstation 1 to Pong on the Binatone TV Master IV.
Here you’ll also discover Action Stations Nerf Area, Canoe Lake Leisure Tennis workshops, plus the brilliant Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Mary Rose Zones!
Held in the picturesque seaside location of Southsea overlooking the Solent, Victorious Festival is the ultimate family friendly experience.
Revellers can expect an eclectic mix of live music and DJ performances, from some of the biggest names in the music industry, as well as a medley of locally sourced food markets and ale stalls, arts and crafts, and much, much more.
