Capturing memories of your children as they grow up is important.
When my older children were babies, I used to reel after reel of film and spend an absolute fortune on getting these films developed and adding the pictures to photo albums.
Now everything is much easier, with digital camera’s and smart phones allowing us to take hundred’s of photo’s without the worry of getting expensive prints. The only issue we have now is “Is there enough memory space?”
With this in mind, SanDisk has several products which solve any of these issues, particularly if you are on your travels.
For iPhone and iPad users:
The SanDisk iXpand offers an easy way to free up space on your device, automatically backs up your camera roll, and lets you watch videos straight from the drive itself. In essence, it delivers a fast and simple way to free up space on your iPhone so that you’re always ready to capture more memories. Separately, the iXpand Base allows users to backup their data while charging their phones, from the comfort of their home.
For Android users: Much like the iXpand, the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive allows people to easily transfer files between OTG-enabled Android smartphones and tablets with and PC and Mac computers.
For both Apple or Android users: The Connect Wireless Stick provides data storage for travelling phone users without the need of connecting the device – simply keep it on a keyring or in your bag and it backups your content wirelessly.
We were sent the SanDisk iXpand to review.
The iXpand Flash Drive is designed specifically for Apple with a flexible lightning & USB 3.0 connector allowing for stress-free transfers from iPhone/iPad to computer.
It is super simple to connect the drive to your iPhone or iPad using the Lightning connector and there is no need to set up an account to use it, but the iXpand Drive App makes it easy to back up, transfer and manage photos, videos and files between your iPhone, iPad and computers.
The iXpand is shaped like a regular USB drive with a loop attached, making it look like a question mark, but sadly it doesn’t have a key ring like facility to attach it to a bag or a zip which would make it even better.
One end is a full-size USB Type-A jack that can be plugged into laptops and desktops, and the other curves around to a lightning jack for iPad and iPhone. This end is slightly flexible to work around any added thickness from phone and tablet cases.
It is our iPads that struggle for memory rather than our iPhones, so this is perfect for adding films to for the kids to watch, if we are going on any long journey’s, as they can watch directly from the flash drive.
This is such a handy gadget. I take so many pictures when I go on holiday so I never have enough memory.
I definitely need to invest in one of these – though for pics from my travels rather than pics of children (as I don’t have kiddies yet… that said, I have cats and I take a lot of pics of them haha!) X
Oh such good timing! I need to free up space on my phone and I was about to look for ways to save the photos. But I wasn’t sure what would be the best option and this post explains it well.
I love Sandisk products anyway but haven’t heard of this. I so need one! Kaz
What a fab little gadget! We have so many photos that even on holiday we have to take the laptop to download them or take multiple discs!
This looks great – modern and really handy! I’ll be adding to my amazon wish list!
We’ve bought one of the flash drives for our daughter’s youth theatre songs. It’s pretty nifty and really handy to just plug into the TV when she wants to practice!
Ooh I really should get something like this – I haven’t backed up any pictures which isn’t very good!
This is one gadget I need. I would love to backup my iPhone with this.
This sounds like a great gadget to have! I really need something like this as I take SO many photos on my phone and never back them up!
Great gadget, I am buying it tomorrow as I never have enough space on my phone. Thank you for sharing with us

I always use Sandisk products, but I’ve not come across this one before! It sounds awesome though, and it’s something I’d definitely consider investing in 🙂

Running out of memory – it’s the modern nightmare, isn’t it?! I made sure to get my iPhone with maximum storage to avoid this exact problem, but my older iPads still struggle; this looks like the ideal solution! x
This is such a good idea, love that it is so small as well.
