How a Glamping Holiday can Bring a Family Together

With the new year now in full swing, many of us are starting to plan our holidays and adventures for the forthcoming year. When trying to plan a holiday around half-terms and other events, it can be a more difficult than first thought. However, this shouldn’t deter you to not go on holiday at all, as there are, in fact, plenty of other ways to travel than having to plan something months in advance and think about passports and all the stress that can often come along with travelling abroad.

As we are all often caught up in the same old routines, it can be hard to make time for each other, and when on holiday we can still find it hard to do this, especially when travelling with children who are all different ages. Instead, why not opt for a holiday a little closer to home? A holiday where you don’t have to travel too far and spend some quality time together as a family could be just what you are after.

If you want to do something a little bit different which you know everyone will enjoy, why not look at glamping holidays? Glamping can be the perfect way to bring the whole family together and enjoy a different type of holiday which you may not be used to. Below, we have listed some of the reasons that glamping brings a family together.

Switch Off

Glamping abodes are often located in some the most beautiful parts of the United Kingdom, so you won’t even want to look at your phone, laptop or tablet as you will be surrounded by incredible scenery. Electronics play a massive role in our lives, but when you’re glamping there will be so much to explore that you will probably leave your phone in your bag for an hour or two. It is also important for our health to switch off for a while and not check work emails or social media while we’re around our close family. Of course, if you find it hard to switch off many glamping abodes come with Wi-Fi!

Nature

As we said above, many children are so glued to technology that they can often forget that there is a whole world out there just waiting to be explored. One of the best things about glamping is that you can get a little bit closer to nature. Wherever the glamping abode is based, there will be a whole world to explore right on your doorstep. With trees to climb and wide-open spaces to run around in, there are endless activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Crealy Meadows

Whether you want to spend your holiday exploring the coastline, at the beach or walking through a magical woodland, there are plenty of places to explore throughout the UK.

New Activities

When on holiday, we all like to try new things, whether that is food or a new activity, and when getting out of your comfort zone as a family it can create a special bond. There may be an activity that one of your children loves, but you haven’t ever given it much thought. Instead, get the whole family involved, and this could open up a whole new activity that everyone can participate in when you return home.

Go Ape

Creating Memories

When staying in a unique glamping abode, like a yurt or treehouse this will create lifelong memories. However, it isn’t just where you will be staying that will leave a lasting impression, but instead, the experience itself. Glamping is such a unique experience and is a million miles away from a hotel room. Even though glamping has all of the luxuries you would find in a hotel room, but in a completely different setting.

Socialise

As our lives end up being busy, we rarely have the time to catch up with one another. However, when you go glamping you can reconnect with each other through numerous ways. Why not bring along a few board games and find out who is the most competitive out of everyone, or a pack of cards and teach your children some games. However, you can also spend time telling stories, and generally having fun together.

Location

One of the most wonderful things about glamping is the new locations you get to explore. Often, we spend hours wondering which location would be best suited, but with glamping, you will probably end up picking an abode without even considering the location at all. This will mean that you may visit somewhere you might not have considered going before. Additionally, this can be an adventure all in itself, as it will give you the opportunity to explore a brand-new area, and explore a new place together. This can also bring you all together; as a family you can decide on what to do, eat and see.

Durdle Door

By incorporating all of the factors above, the whole family can reconnect with one another. You will end up learning new things about each other, which you may have missed before. Wherever you choose to go, or even what holiday to take this year, make sure you make a little bit more time for each other.

  2. I want to go glamping SO SO SO BAD it has been something i’ve wanted to for so long. I think it is a really god idea for families to get together and do it. It seems like a great bonding and team building idea – something my family could definitely use even if we are all grown ups!
