Bosch Sky Variable Temperature Kettle Review

Now the temperature has dropped, it is hot chocolate season in our house and I have had to make sure that the cupboards are stocked with mini marshmallows and whipped cream to make them extra special.

The only problem with making hot chocolate for the kids is that it is always too hot and they have to wait for it to cool down…….until now!

We were sent the Bosch Sky kettle to review, which can not only hold up to 1.7 litres of water – enough for 6 cups of hot chocolate, but can be set at 5°C increments from 70°C – 100°C, so you can get the perfect temperature every time.

The kettle itself is made from double walled stainless steel which helps to keep the water hotter for longer, but it also keeps the exterior cool.

On the black base are the easy-to-use touch controls. Here, you can switch on the kettle and adjust the ‘Temperature Control’ indicator, which allows you to set the water’s heat.

There is a water level indicator marked in both litres and cups which helps to prevent water waste and thus saves energy as you only fill it with what you need to use and it boils super fast, thanks to its rapid boil function. There is also a ‘Keep Warm’ button, which keeps the water at your set temperature for 30 minutes after the kettle has boiled.

The kettle is easy to clean, with a wide opening to give an easy fill and a concealed element. This kettle also has a handy removable filter to guarantee to keep it limescale free – great if you live in a hard water area like ours.

The Bosch Sky Kettle is cordless and its on a 360o base, which means you can have the kettle on at any angle and its non-slip feet keeps it secure on my work surfaces. For safety, the kettle turns off automatically when it has finished boiling or it leaves the base and it overheating and run-dry protection are also included so you cannot damage the element if you forget to fill the kettle.

All in all, it is a great, modern looking kettle with some fabulous features and a handy two-year guarantee. It is available from Euronics for £99.99

  1. Perfect temperature hot chocolate sounds perfect!! With a 4 month old I either have time to drink it when it’s just been made or when it’s gone cold! 🙂
