The kids love learning about the world we live in and finding where the countries are that we have visited on a map or globe.
Currently Isaac is learning all about Finland and they are doing a project comparing daylight hours and temperatures between Finland and the UK as their teachers Dad lives over there.
We have been sent the Smart Globe Explorer to review and it is a great addition to his learning.
The globe itself comes with a wireless talking smart pen shaped like a space shuttle that you can use to explore the globe and discover many useful and interesting facts about the world and universe we live in.
On the base of the globe is an interactive activity panel which contains more than 42 fun and educational activities and games, including find & compare and multi-player options. To select each option, simply point at the subject you want to learn more about with the smart pen.
The Globe in easily updatable through a PC via the supplied USB cable to ensure it is never out of date, keeping up to date with most recent changes in World Leader, Global New and other interesting facts to our planet.
The cleverly designed globe can be explored using both the Smart Learning Pen and through Augmented Reality content on the app, which can be downloaded onto your phone or tablet using either iTunes or Google Play. The app can show famous buildings, native animals and even dinosaurs.
The cleverly designed globe also opens up to reveal the earth’s core and the solar system, which can be explored using both the Smart Learning Pen and through Augmented Reality content.
At the side of the globe is a pull out plate featuring a map of the UK, simply open it up to make a stand for the open globe to sit on and reveal what is on the inside.
With three age range settings: 5 to 8, 9 to 14 and 15+ the globe is perfect for all the family and will grow as your children do. You can swap between age settings as often as you like, to allow all family members to enjoy the SmartGlobe.
Sebby is at the age where he likes making the dinosaurs and animals appear, whereas Eliza is keen to learn facts about countries related to her and her friends and Isaac is fiascinated by the solar system.
The SmartGlobe Explorer from Oregon Scientific has an RRP of £129.99 which is pricey but I can see it being used for years to come for homework, school projects and fun.
