If there is one film the kids have been nagging me to take them to see, it is the Emoji Movie.
I have to admit the film does seem like a clever idea, but emoji’s un-nerve me now, after seeing that rather scary episode of Dr Who!
The film is based on a world hidden inside a smartphone, the bustling city of Textopolis, which is home to all emojis.
Each emoji has only one facial expression, except for Gene, an exuberant emoji with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his best friend Hi-5 and a notorious code breaker called Jailbreak.
During their travels through the other apps, the three emojis discover a great danger that could threaten their phone’s very existence.
Of course, with kids films comes merchandise and we were sent Jailbreak and Poop Daddy from Flair to review.
The figures are 8″ and feature poseable arms and legs that are perfect for imaginative play and collectability!
Lift up their left arm and Poop Daddy’s bow tie lights up, Jailbreaks hair glows blue and Gene’s mouth lights up.
With an RRP of £14.99 they are basic plastic toy but they really seem to have caught the kids imaginations and come everywhere with us at the moment.

Maybe I’m just getting old but I really don’t understand this whole Emoji movie thing! The toys do look funny though.
I can’t believe there’s actually an emoji movie, but as long as the kids enjoyed it thats great. Cute figures though x
My children really want to see the film too. I can imagine them wanting to spend all their pocket money on the toys.
Honestly, I’ve heard really bad reviews about the movie.. But the toys look fun, so maybe those are worth looking at for my daughter.
I saw that they was making this film and was a bit excited! Sounds like a good story too 🙂
My partners kids were dying to see this as soon as it came out too.
I haven’t seen it yet, no – but I know a couple of friends have taken their children and they loved it!
I don’t really get the point of this film? Haha, I guess I’ll have to watch it! I love the look of the poop toy though x
