Towards the end of last year I did a walking tour of Bournemouth with Hotter Shoes where I learned interesting facts all about my home town and saw things that I have walked past on an almost daily basis and never noticed.
During this walk, the Hotter team mentioned that it was the 10th anniversary of their Bournemouth store on April 20th 2017 and asked if I could think of a way to celebrate.
I am a bit of a daredevil on the quiet and had the perfect challenge to set a group of bloggers and the Hotter team……….the PierZip on Bournemouth Pier.
The PierZip is the world’s first pier to shore zip wire, boasting a 250 metre dual zip wire, allowing you to challenge friends or family to race from the end of the pier to the shore!
The brave bloggers and I met on the pier and got kitted out in the safety equipment and our new Hotter Shoes which all came from their Active range.
I chose the Appleby GTX shoe which is ideal for our outdoor adventures. Not only is it lightweight and comfortable, but has been designed with GORE-TEX® which repels water to keep my feet dry, whilst offering maximum breathability to leave my feet feeling dryer for longer.
My comfy shoes were a godsend on the climb to the top of the tower which stands a nerve-wracking 25 metres above the sea.
Despite the nerves in the group, I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience with some of us brave adventurers braving the zip wire twice.
Even the staff from the Bournemouth Store gave it a try too!!
It was soon my turn and I could not wait to launch myself off the platform.
Taking on the Pierzip is a truly unique and unforgettable experience!
This is the first time I have ridden it at sunset and the panoramic view of Bournemouth and its coastline bathed in orange as the sun went down was spectacular.
Once we had landed, we all gave a brief interview about our experience and the shoes we had chosen, before heading to Aruba for a spot of dinner and a cocktail reward.
Happy 10th Birthday Hotter Bournemouth, here’s to the next ten years!!

JEALOUS!!! Looks like you have an absolutely amazing time!! This is just my sort of day!
Wow! That looks like so much fun 🙂 I’ve heard good things about how comfy hotter shoes are too.
I have to say I’m ‘well-jel’ that you got to do something like this – I would have absolutely loved it! I’m all over great activities and daredevil experiences. Those shoes you wore are really stylish – but above all look really comfy – and being comfy is a huge plus point! Did you vlog this at all? I’d love to see the video!
Wow this looks like such an adrenaline rush!I would love to do something like this one day but I am terrified of heights. I have some Hotter shoes and I love them, so comfy xx
Wow this looks amazing! I must do this next time I am in Bournemouth.
That Zipwire looks amazing! What a fun thing to do! I’m glad you had such a great day.
that zipwire looks so much fun! We love Bournemouth!
Wow you were brave to ride the pier zip but it looked like so much fun. It is great that you could wear the new hotter active range too!
I’d really love to do this, it looks so awesome! What a great opportunity! x
Not sure I would dare go down the zipwire! And surely I wouldn’t be able to take pictures while doing it! Well done
Wow brave! It’s something I would love to try but I’m not great with heights. I have done little zip wires at playgrounds to be a role model to my kids and encourage them to try things. Love the shoes!
Kara you are amazing! I saw your Instagram of this and it looked like you were having fun. It’s important to have good shoes on when flying high like this!!!
This looks so scary.. but fun! The cocktail looks yummy too!
This looks so so fun. Love your pictures on the go, as it were.
You’re so brave – I would love to do something like that but I’d be too scared 😉
Wow that looks so exciting and even more exciting for me as I am coming to Bournemouth in September with a group of friends and one of our activities will be that very zip wire. It looks amazing and what a way to celebrate ten years!!
Oh wow this is such an amazing challenge!! Love this idea and that Hotter shoes came together with you on this!
