Mpow 2 in 1 Clip-on Lens for the iPhone

I love a gadget and one that will turn my iphone photo’s into masterpieces really caught my attention.

I was offered the Mpow 2 in 1 Clip-on Lens to review and I could not wait to test it out over the half term break.

The product description states that the lens is designed for high megapixel photography & video camera use.

The HD lens minimises lens glare, reflection, ghosting and other artifacts for superb clarity and top-grade aluminium construction increases the durability of the product.

It also promised to give an experience of DSLR quality performance and capture stunning photography.

Now, it was described a small, lightweight and portable, however, I was shocked by its size and weight. It measures 12cm, 10.1cm x 5.8cm and weighs 181 grams which sounds small bit attach this to your lightweight phone and you certainly feel it.

You can’t slide your phone back into your pocket with it attached either and either need to carry a bag with you to pop it back in to or use the larger pockets in your coat.

The lens has a detachable soft rubber clip works on all popular brands and models of smartphones and tablets and promises not to damage or scratch the phone. It is easy to attach and you just need to make sure the lens is central to ensure you get the best picture.

The photo on the left was taken with my iphone and the photo on the right was taken with the additional lens. I will agree that the photo on the right is slightly crisper but I would much prefer to carry around a compact camera in my handbag as it is easier to grab, focus and shoot the picture I want to take than faff about and attach the lens.

The Mpow Lens costs £19.09 and is available from Amazon.

I always think I need to work on the photography aspect of my blog, but I don’t see that much of a difference between the photos, so would probably opt for a seperate portable camera.

  2. My younger son is desperate to get one of these! He doesn’t have a compact camera as an alternative, so would make a lot of sense for him. Although I can’t see much difference in your two pictures!
