On Monday we were invited to an exclusive screening of Skylanders Academy – the fabulous new show exclusive to Netflix.
At Skylanders Academy the greatest young warriors from realms all across Skylands are trained to protect the universe from evil-doers and the first episode introduces us to the team as they train to become Skylanders.
We arrived at the Mondrian Hotel full of excitement about what we were about to see and were immediately presented with a room full of Playstations and the new Skylanders Imaginators to play.
We have this game at home and Isaac was in his element as he showed people what to do. In Skylanders Imaginators, Kaos has discovered the ancient power of Mind Magic and is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders! Eon is calling upon all Portal Masters and Skylands’ greatest mystic warriors, the Senseis, to stop Kaos and his minions.
You must use the power of your imagination to create your own Skylanders to battle in the ultimate adventure alongside the almighty Senseis to save Skylands. Each Sensei is a master of one of 10 powerful Battle Classes (e.g., Knight, Sorcerer, Brawler and more). Being the master of these Battle Classes, only Senseis have the ability to unleash Sky-Chi – the ultimate Battle Class super move. Skylanders Senseis have a master-to-apprentice relationship with newly created Imaginator Skylanders.
Skylanders Imaginators introduces a new toy type – a Creation Crystal. This vessel allows players to create and transport their unique Skylanders to consoles at anytime, anywhere! Creation Crystals are elementally aligned and Portal Masters can create one character per Creation Crystal.
We had just under an hour of playtime before the screening of Skylanders Academy.
The newest Skylanders team – SPYRO, STEALTH ELF and ERUPTOR – are on high alert to foil KAOS and the DOOM RAIDERS’ plots to rule the universe! As the tale begins, Master Eon discovers he will need his heroes even more than ever, as a mysterious darkness begins to seep in and destroy the balance of the Skylands!
With voices from stars such as Susan Sarandon, Ashley Tisdale and Youtube sensation Dan TDM, the show had the kids getting all excited about the characters they know and love from the game. We were introduced to Spyro, the cheeky dragon that loves himself a little too much and his best friends Stealth Elf and Eruptor and of course their nemesis Kaos with his trusty servant Glum Shanks………we cannot wait for the next instalment.
Skylanders Academy airs on Netflix from 28th October with an initial run of 12 episodes and continue with a second season in late 2017.
B isn’t quite old enough for this yet but I genuinely can’t wait till he gets into gaming.
I’m a huge gamer myself so I’d love for him to follow in my footsteps.
Thanks for giving me an idea of a way to get him into gaming!
xo
Sounds like so much fun! Also love Susan Sarandon in everything she does.
We don’t have Netflix, but that looks like a show T would enjoy too! 🙂
I think my boys would have loved this when they were little, I do miss those times we use to play on the console. Gee is not really bothered and would rather attempt to create something in the kitchen (besides the mess).
How exciting – I didn’t realise that Skylanders was coming to Netflix (although I bet my son does:-) I love that his hero DanTDM is doing a voice, I will have to tell him so we can watch together.
Wow what a fab opportunity, I bet Isaac was in his element! My boy certainly would have been.
We will look out for this on Netflix 🙂 x
Wow what a fab event!! This looks fab! My eldest is too old for sky landers now but I have friends children who go crazy for them! Will have to look this up on Netflix for a nosy!
