I have already posted about where to eat for free aboard the Carnival Vista, but they also offer some magnificent restaurants onboard and I urge you to check out at least one during your cruise.
Now, I cannot give you our favourite restaurant as they are so different, yet all are amazing in their own way.
The first restaurant we got to try was JiJi Asian Kitchen. JiJi, meaning lucky lucky, serves up enticing dishes in a restaurant designed with an Asian theme.
JiJi offers a full-service menu featuring a mix of exotic and familiar dishes designed to challenge and delight your senses and you get to choose several dishes for your table to share.
The service everywhere onboard Vista was exemplary, however, the staff at JiJi Asian Kitchen were really excited about the dishes they presented and went that extra mile to make sure we had a good time, teaching the kids to use chopsticks and encouraging them to try something new. Mona Lisa even had the whole restaurant singing Happy Birthday to Kian as she presented his birthday cake.
The only thing I would recommend is that you go to dinner starving as there was so much delicious food to try and we felt guilty leaving some.
JiJi Asian costs just $15 for adults and $5 for the children’s menu.
Our second restaurant we tried was Cucina Del Capitano which serves Italian-American dishes inspired by the recipes from Carnival’s Italian captains’ and officers’ childhoods. Vintage images of their captains and ships adorn the walls, and there’s even a Captain’s table where you just might see the man himself dine.
The food here was delicious but it was the service that had an added twist. Every half an hour the waiting staff grabbed their microphones and serenaded the restaurant with old-fashioned songs such as “That’s Amore”.
Cucina Del Capitano costs $15 for adults and $5 for the children’s menu.
Our final restaurant of our cruise was the Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse whose menu features mouthwatering premium cuts of beef which are cooked to your exact specifications. You are presented with the different types of steaks and explained the type and size of each one before you make your choice.
If steak isn’t for you there is a fantastic selection of seafood, entrées, gourmet appetizers plus an extensive wine list to choose from too. The steaks were huge and cooked to perfection. How we managed to squeeze in dessert too, I will never know!
Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse costs $35 per adult and $10 per child.
Lastly, I cannot finish this post without mentioning the Green Eggs and Ham with The Cat in the Hat and Friends.
Taking inspiration from Dr Seuss Green Eggs and Ham book and the Cat in the Hat, this menu is where you’ll find Green Eggs and Ham, brightly coloured fruit, gravity-defying pancake stacks, funky french toast, “Moose Juice” ‘n’ ”Goose Juice” plus some more traditional breakfast offerings.
The Green Eggs and Ham breakfast costs $5 per person and includes a meet and greet with the Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 & Thing 2 and Sam.
There really is something for everyone food wise onboard the Carnival Vista!
Where do you think you would choose to eat onboard?
The asian kitchen sounds really lovely! The girls went to a chinese buffet resturant the other day for the first time and learnt to use chopsticks too and now want to use them for every meal (we had soup this evening so didn’t go down well)!
THat sounds amazing – I love that there are so many options to choose from x x
My mouth is watering just looking and reading about those amazing dishes. Oh yummy
I definitely would not have moved from the food onboard a cruise if this is how good it is!
Why do I read blogs at dinner time?! I’m so hungry and reading about the food isn’t helping! There was just so much to choose from!
Looks like you had a fantastic time! The food in that Asian kitchen looks amazing. I’ve never been on a cruise boat before but this post sure makes it look tempting!
These dining options look and sound amazing. I do think it’s worth paying the extra especially if you have a special occasion. The birthday was a really nice touch
Oh wow the steakhouse looks amazing, and wow, can we discuss the dr seuss restaurant?? I’d eat in there every day, haha!!
Not a big fan of fine dining, maybe because I always feel the need to “act properly” and don’t really feel relaxed in that sort of atmosphere 😉 But would certainly love to have the “Green Eggs and Ham” breakfast 😉
I have not done fine dining for a while now so not sure how I would behave lol. The the food does look delicious at Jiji (x2) and would be awesome to try it out.
It all looks so good! I’d love to go to the green eggs and ham breakfast! How awesome x
All the food looks so lovely, I love how well it is all set out and the table setting look great 🙂
This post makes me drool, everything is so delicious.
Oooh this is making me hungry.. the Asian themed restauarant look gorgeous, and it’s briliant that the steakhouse explain the different meat cuts to you (I always feel so clueless!).
We went on carnival once and really enjoyed the food! Ps my linky for family travel now open until 7th April if you are interested
