I totally failed at doing my 365 in the last two weeks as we were busy coming down from a very busy Camp Bestival and then straight in to another weekend away.
Our final day of Camp Bestival saw us roasting beef, making candles, bowing before Henry VIII and shooting arrows with the Tudors, taking part in a very special festival of light parade before enjoying an impressive firework display for the finale.
We arrived home at midnight Sunday and on Monday I started the post holiday washing mountain. During the first cycle I heard an almighty crash from the washing machine but it valiantly carried on with its cycle. A second wash sealed its fate though and as it rattled and clunked I knew it really wasn’t right so called out an engineer.
Tuesday saw me sorting out the clean washing and putting it away whilst ferrying other loads over to my very kind MIL who offered to help us out.
On Wednesday the engineer arrived and after much huffing and puffing, mutters of “that’s not good” he wrote off my poor, faithful washing machine before heading out for our weekly swimming lessons.
Thursday was a miserable day so we hit soft play where Sebby stole my scone and on Friday we headed out to Farmer Palmers to enjoy the sunshine. I don’t think I have ever seen it so busy!
Saturday was a fabulous day as we headed for Thorpe Park for a very special event with Frubes. The kids got a dance lesson with Balance Trinity who reached the finals of BGT last year. He was amazing with them and they all came away beaming from ear to ear.
As part of the Frubes event we got to stay overnight in the Shark Hotel at Thorpe Park and enjoy the theme park the next day, which was lots of fun.
On Monday we headed to Sandbanks for a #Swimsafe swimming lesson in the sea for Isaac, which taught him all about how to swim safely in open water.
Tuesday saw us heading off to Upton Country House for a bloggers meet up which was lots of fun and the kids got to make a den and climb some trees which is always a hit.
Wednesday was Bournemouth Candlelight Nights and we headed down to the Lower Gardens to take part in some duck racing and light some of the candles which formed large displays of lights representing anything from animals to cartoon characters.
Thursday was another beach day, only this time at Middle Beach in Studland where the water is so shallow that the kids can go out quite far and take their snorkels to see what they can find.
On Friday we had a day at home and I filled up the paddling pool as the weather was so nice and on Saturday we headed into the New Forest to do some pond dipping at Puttles Bridge before dropping Isaac at his Cub Camp. As you can imagine he was hugely excited but me not so much as this will be the longest time he has spent away from home. I know he will love it though.
So that is it from me this week, we hope you are enjoying the summer holidays as much as we are!
Sounds like you are having an excellent summer! The Frubes events sounds like fun x
Wow, what a busy fortnight you have had. Pah about the washing machine. It was lovely catching up with you and the little ones at Frubes
From your photos it looks like you are never in the house!! How on earth do you manage to blog 😉
You are so busy, do you ever just have down time at home and do nothing???
That sounds like one jam packed summer so far! A brilliantly fun one too! Thanks for all your Boscome/Bournemouth tips! I know what to see and do next time we are there now! 🙂
Out and about everywhere! There is never a good time for a washing machine to die!
It’s difficult to keep up when you are so busy isn’t it? Looks like you have all had an amazing time though.
So much family fun, we were at the candlelight night last week too. I bought my own tapers in advance though to make it super easy! lol Mich x
Oh dear at the washing machine, but thank goodness for MIL.
I am sure he will love cub camp, Bob always did, he got a lot out of it. I like the idea of shallow water at the beach.
Oh the washing and unpacking after a holiday, I’m doing mine at the moment
Sounds like another great week – I like the sound of the candlelight night.
You always seem to be out and about with your family – I bet you have thousands of photos 😉
