#Win a pack of Promise and Wishcards and Pregnancy Milestone Cards from Baby Blooms

Having a baby is a life changing moment in anyone’s lives and choosing the perfect gift for new parents can be a tough one.

When we had our children I have to admit that I preferred practical gifts as I remember being so over-run with flowers when I had Kian that we had to go out and buy extra vases.

Gifts I loved receiving were baby clothes, whether still on the hanger or dressed up like a bouquet, which is a really clever idea. I also appreciated keepsake books, photo albums when my older ones were small and even keepsake boxes.

Times have moved on and with the arrival of digital camera’s there is no need for photo albums anymore as we store everything digitally. Perhaps you could buy portable hard drive for all those extra photo’s that suddenly get taken or a digital photo frame.

One phenonema I wish had been around when mine were baby’s in the pregnancy and baby milestone cards. I look back at photo’s of mine and have to guess my stage of pregnancy or how old they were in the photo, but now with these cards it is easy to see.

  1. I’ve already got a Hugh basket and I’m filling it with things my neice has talked about over the past few months -she’s due end of September and the basket contains treats for her to relax and indulge along with keepsake boxes and clothes and a steriliser for her baby girl -she’ll be chuffed when she gets it

  2. We sent my sister in law Cook vouchers. As it was her second girl, she already had everything she needed, and we thought that way she could get some hot meals in. They seemed to go down well.

  3. I think something useful – like vouchers so that they can choose something they really need. Either that or a huge bottle of wine!!

  4. My sister is making me a hamper for when I have my little one in September 🙂 I think vouchers are a good gift as you don’t know what people already have then they can buy what they need x

  5. It would definitely be something useful, rather get them something they’ll need than something pretty that’ll only get worn once.

  6. Besides for diapers and wipes, a bottle warmer really comes in handy. And Swaddle blankets. My baby loved being a baby burrito.

  7. Some toiletries and beauty treats for the new mum, book games and comics for any siblings and useful items like nappies for the new born

  8. The Wonder Weeks – I have the app and it’s been a life saver at times when I just couldn’t work out what was wrong with my usually-placid baby!
The milestones and advice shown in this book make so much sense and I’d say it would be a really helpful gift for any new parent, novice and experienced alike.

  9. I would give new parents more time in the day, as there never seems to be enough of it, especially with a beautiful new baby in the house x

  10. My ideal gift would be a little hamper
So in the hamper would be nappies a bigger size baby grows a bigger size baby wipes. Baby shampoo/body wash, sponges, an outfit bigger size, some alcoholic beverage, some chocolate and a vouchee for them to go out for a meal.
Babies grown so fast id definitely want them to be prepared and then spoil themselfs with a date night

  11. When baby is born, our ideal gift to the new parents is cooking dinner for them and cleaning up/putting on a wash

  12. If it was someone I knew well I think you can never go wrong with a helping hand, an offer to do some housework or even some meals for the freezer. x

  14. I am currently pregnant and I would love a lovely pamer gift set, with just some lovely bubble bath, body lotion, candle, fluffy slippers and maybe some choccies! It would be lovely if my husband had some gifts too, as I think daddy’s usually miss out as everyone focuses on mum and baby x

  15. I went to a baby shower last month and actually bought some milestone cards for the mum to be as a gift after my best mate had said in the past she wished she had got some of these for her little boy. They seem to be all the rage but I think they are really cute and such a good idea!

  16. I think it’s always difficult when it comes to buying gifts for new parents and/or baby as majority of the time they have everything already!

Clothes are always good but if I buy them I tend to get them in a bigger size so baby can grow into them. Failing that personal gifts are always lovely and chances are no one would of got the same 🙂

  17. I always like to do just that. Buy something for the parents. People often neglect the parents and whilst it’s lovely to get some bits for your babies – it’s always a lovely surprise getting a mummy/daddy (or both) care package!
