That’s it, they’re all done!
Kian has finally finished his GCSE’s and now it is a 57 day waiting game to get his results.
It hasn’t been easy, the pressure that school alone apply the students taking their exams is nothing like I experienced when I was at school or even Abbey and Callan. Kian was expected to attend revision sessions during the school holidays and after school, plus the students didn’t have study leave like we used to. These days they sit an exam and then are expected to attend revision sessions straight after.
We tried to give Kian as much peace and quiet as possible, often taking the younger kids out, just so he could have some peace and quiet to relax but he was obviously stressed and my normally fairly chilled teen was snappy and grumpy.
Now he has the summer holiday’s to look forward to before starting his A-Levels in September. I am hoping that he can relax and go out with his friends as well as start looking for a summer job so he can afford all the activities he has planned, although job searching as a not quite 16 year old does have its own problems!
We celebrated the end of his exams with a visit to Five Guys in Whiteley as he was keen to try their burgers – yes, it was a long way to go just for lunch, but that is what he wanted!
Now Five Guys is not cheap, it cost £50 for four of us to eat, but the food is amazing. The burgers are all freshly cooked and you can choose up to 15 toppings to add to your burger for no extra charge. The milkshakes are also out of this world and Kian chose Salted Caramel flavour and Hubby chose Banana. Sebby and I decided on a fizzy drink option and the cherry vanilla coke is also delicious.
I have promised Kian a shopping trip next month before the little ones break up from school as we need to update his wardrobe in time for our holiday’s and any potential job interviews. I shall be stalking the Promo Codes website first though for some voucher codes as he has suddenly developed a love of labelled clothing and all savings help.
But for now, it is the end of an era………no more school uniform, no more exams and the start of a brand new adventure!

Now the wait is on for the results during the summer hols, I remember waiting for mine so I don’t envy him!

I bet he is glad that they are done now and he can enjoy the summer. I have never been to five guys before, one has just opened near me so I really should visit sometime as your meals look amazing xx

I can’t remember how I celebrated after my GCSE’s, but I remember how much of a relief it was when exam season ended!
Kian is a brilliant name, my little ones Kian 2 I’m sure he done brilliantly in his exams and what a good way to spent it at 5 guys the chips are amazing xx
My son has finished his A Levels and said good bye to school forever. I’m not sure I’m ready for how grown up he is. He’s gone to Paris to celebrate with his girl friend. Long gone are the days when he’d be happy going for a pizza with his Mum
