This year Fathers’ Day is Sunday 19th June and I have to admit that it is normally up to me to pick a gift I know Hubby will love and appreciate.
Tesco have Fathers’ Day Gifts for all types of Dad’s with ideas for the music lover, film buff, sports mad, green fingered, foodie and even the quirky difficult to buy for kind and they have challenged me to let the kids pick their ideal gift for Dad.
I am not sure if their idea of the perfect presents were more for them than him:
Kian (15) veered between letting Dad have a nice long sleep, or installing a long zip wire in the garden. Now our garden is not much bigger than a postage stamp so not quite sure how that would work, but we could always extend it into the park behind the house I guess.
The Zip Wire isn’t a bad idea as I know he wants to do Velocity at Zip World, the fastest zip in the world, having done Zip World Titan last year.
Isaac (8) wants to buy Dad the Ghostbusters Ecto One car. Hubby hates driving but I think even he would quite enjoy turning up to work in this, with Isaac kitted up in full Ghostbusters gear and a proton pack attached to his back to defend him against ghouls and ghosts (or the customers at work).
I am not sure it is a practical vehicle for the long-term though.
Eliza (5) knows Daddy likes Star Wars and wants to get him the “little round robot“. I think she means the BB8 Droid and he would be quite handy to have around the home, getting all those DIY chores done so Hubby doesn’t have to do them and has more time to play.
Sebastian (almost 3) wants to get Daddy “Big Mater” from Disney Cars. I guess he would be quite handy if Ecto One breaks down.
So there you have it, looks like it is up to me to get the sensible presents again this year, although we might just be able to arrange a lie in for him on Fathers’ Day.

I’m with Isaac on this one. The ghostbusters car really would be the best Father’s Day gift
Good luck with picking a perfect gift, I always struggle. I love the idea of the zip wire haha .X
I’m stuck for ideas this year too. As my daughters dad has a milestone birthday a month after as well.
He did like the idea of going to GoApe for the day though
Good luck with choosing the perfect present! It’s never easy is it?! We’ll probably settle for a bottle of something alcoholic and maybe go out for breakfast here.
I’m stuck with what to get my hubby this year I think its going to end up something handmade.
Fab gift ideas, I love how imaginative kids can be, especially when it comes to gift giving!
I always struggle picking fathers day gifts for my partner as it is his birthday the day before so I have two lots of gifts to buy. xx
I struggle with presents for my dad the whole time. I now look at hotel breaks and days out that I know he will enjoy. He never wants anything, so difficult.
My daddy already has a little remote control BB8! He loves it, got it from John Lewis. Personally I would get him the Ghostbusters Ecto One. Seriously.
Thankfully my dad is really easy to buy for and we keep him stacked up with vouchers at his favourite fishing tackle shop x
OMG how cool would a big Mater be? My son loves cars so I’m guessing he will be choosing something to do with that for Daddy haha
Great choice, I’d quite like the Ecto car for myself.
