Being a childminder means my vacuum cleaner is out several times a day, clearing up mess left by the children as they craft and play so when Vax offered me a Cordless Air Lift Vacuum Cleaner I jumped at the chance as having a cordless vacuum would save time and energy moving furniture out the way to get to the plug sockets. We have a mix of hard floors and carpets so I was also looking for a machine that could cope with both.
The vacuum cleaner arrived boxed and requiring minimal assembly along with:
- 2-in-1 dusting brush/crevice tool
- 2x Lithium Life Batteries
- Battery charger
- User Guide
The batteries were already charged meaning we could use it straight away.
Being cordless I wasn’t expecting it have as much power as a regular vacuum cleaner but I was pleasantly surprised. It cleaned both the carpet and hard floors equally well by simply pressing a button to activate the brushes for carpets and upholstery.
The real genius of this machine is the Lift-out cylinder for instant extra reach cleaning. The lift-out cylinder detaches from the main body with the click of a button for instant, extra reach enabling you to vacuum the stairs or tackle cobwebs in an easy, fluid motion. It also means that it is light enough for the kids to help me with the cleaning, although Isaac thinks it is the proton pack from Ghostbusters and was busy pretending to capture ghosts.
The Vax Air Cordless Lift vacuum cleaner comes with two LithiumLife™ batteries which simply clip in at the front of the cleaner and are able to deliver up to 60 minutes of long-lasting cleaning power on normal mode. If you use the boost mode it is significantly less although you only need to use this to tackle stubborn dirt, pet hair and high traffic areas around your home. Each battery takes 3 hours to charge and automatically switches off once fully charged.
The Air Cordless Lift has WindTunnel3™ technology. This provides 3 channels of suction across the width of the floor head for a powerful performance. This also helps lift and remove embedded dirt across both carpets and hard floors. It also comes with built in LED headlights you are able to see more dust and dirt than ever before, making it easy it to navigate under and around furniture and in awkward spaces. Being bagless it is also really easy to release the bucket and empty straight in the bin too.
I am really impressed with the Vax Cordless Lift Vacuum Cleaner, it is light, easy to use and store and powerful enough to tackle what my children throw at it!
Oh that looks a lot like the vacuum we have just got to review from Bissell. As we have hard floors downstairs and carpet on the stairs and upstairs I am still on the hunt for the right vacuum for us

That’s a nice looking vacuum cleaner and I’m impressed at how being cordless didn’t mean less power for you – if you have to clean up every day I can see why a cordless would suit.
I’d love a cordless vacuum, but now that job belongs to my other half he chose the vacuum to buy and he’s always wanted a Henry. I’d still like a cordless though, even if it was just for doing the stairs and landing. It would be so handy for the kids bedrooms too.
I’ve never owned a cordless vacuum before. With a dog and toddler in the house, it’s something I would definitely consider as I’m hoovering several times a day and the cables are such a faff.

Being cordless is such a bonus !
We have a small cordless vac, but I’d have to bend down to use it in bigger spaces. I like the sound of this being cordless because we have hardly any sockets and it can be a struggle to plug things in (in the rooms that we haven’t redone yet).

I absolutely want one, Kara, we have a traditional one, with a long hose for the stairs but it is still quite a nightmare to use!xx

I’m liking the lift out cylinder. I have real difficulty sucking up cobwebs etc in the corners of our rooms because the ceilings are so high
