To Infinity and Beyond!

Last Friday we were lucky enough to be invited to Splashdown at Tower Park, Poole for the launch of their new ride, the Wave 105 Infinity, which will be open to the public just in time for the Easter holidays which, with the exception of Good Friday are forecast to be wet and windy.

We love a visit to Splashdown with the family as there is something for everyone with a toddler pool and Little Buccaneer Splashzone for the little ones and some super fast water flumes for the teens.

The new Wave 105 Infinity attraction is described as an “evolution” of one of the water park’s existing rides, the Spacebowl. Now the ride’s combination of music and lighting will be the first of its kind in the UK as riders will slide into “their own personal disco, spinning right round to tracks from the music genre of their choice whilst observing a spectacular new lighting display inside the bowl”.

Splashdown Poole, described as the south’s biggest water park, is carrying out other improvements as well with its toddler pool has been fitted with a 3D effect reef liner to offer an underwater experience for under-sevens.

Splashdown Poole has 13 adrenalin pumping flumes and hubby initiated me on one of the fastest first – Dragon’s Lair. Other adrenaling pumping flumes which saw me brave high speeds and sheer drops include Velocity and the Screamer (yes, I screamed) and we were plunged into darkness on Black Thunder.

Isaac isn’t quite brave enough for the flumes yet but he adored going with the flow on board a huge rubber ring on the Mississippi Drifter. I think that was our most ridden ride of the night but I am proud say I braved all the flumes that were open.
