Fashion for Busy Mums!

I have to admit I have let my sense of style slide in recent years.

I always used to keep up with the current trends and had a wardrobe full of nice clothes. It helped working in an office where you had to look smart and full of young graduates that knew how to dress well.

Fast forward to now with three babies in five years and a childminder to boot, my sense of style has got lost somewhere between the beach and the forest and I mostly opt for comfort and practicality but this needs to change.

Practicality still has to remain and I will never be that glamour-puss who turns up to the school gates in full make-up, towering heels and the latest designer label draped across her back, but I need to find my sense of style once more.

The one thing I do dislike is clothes shopping though. I only get a couple of hours to myself when Sebby is at pre-school which is not long enough to pop into town and wander around the shops, leisurely trying things. He hates shopping with a passion and even if I know exactly what I am getting and can be in and out that shop in minutes, he will create merry hell……..there is a solution though.

Fashion tech company Lyst which is based in London and New York have developed a website shopping experience unique to every user. The more you use the platform, the more it learns about you and your shopping habits so you start to only see things you love!

In addition to making a tailored shopping experience, users can also Lyst items to plan their wardrobes and wish lists and also be alerted when anything they Lyst goes on sale or comes back in stock.

The website does have designer as well as more affordable options and I had great fun putting together my perfect school run chic outfit.

  1. I do like clothes shopping, but I have to be in just the right mood for it, and like you say, it’s so rare to have a bit of time to yourself to actually go. I’ve not heard of Lyst before, I’ll pop and take a look, thanks.
