Give the Gift of a Night Off #MandPNightoff

Last weekend we were lucky enough to enjoy a night off from the kids thanks to Mamas & Papas.

We had been booked in to do the Pier Zip on Bournemouth Pier, the world’s first pier to shore zip wire experience with a launch tower towering high above the sea, giving an exhilarating “zip surf” over the waves to the beach, but sadly the weather conspired against us and it had to close for safety reasons as the wind was too strong.

Thankfully we were also booked into Aruba restaurant at the other end of the pier and were seated by a window so we could watch the waves crashing against the shore in warmth and comfort whilst enjoying a delicious cocktail.

We both ordered Steak for our meal, although I went for peppercorn sauce and hubby went for jerk sauce and both were cooked to perfection. The desserts didn’t disappoint either with hubby opting for a Banoffee Pie and I was in heaven with a Red Velvet cheesecake.

Aruba

As the evening progressed Aruba soon filled up with Christmas Parties so we decided to head outside for a stroll through the gardens where the festival of light is in full swing.

We followed the glowing trail of snowflakes to the Gardens of Light, but sadly didn’t get to skate in style under the trees as the sessions were fully booked but did get to enjoy the displays. It was about 9pm when we reached the traditional alpine market, so sadly that was closed but we did enjoy a drink at the Moose Bar and the brilliant Lauren Fitzgerald on the Christmas Stage in the Town Square.

Bournemouth

It was a really relaxed, fun night out and I must thank my eldest daughter Abbey for babysitting for us.

Every parent deserves a night off every now and again, so if you are struggling for the perfect present for a friend or relative with a family, why not get them a Mamas & Papas Babysitting Voucher (plus it’s free). There’s nothing better than knowing the little ones are safe and sound with a loved one, so you are offering them the best present of them all – an evening off where they can go out and relax, or just get some sleep.

Thank you Mamas & Papas, we had a fabulous evening off!

  1. What a shame all of your plans didn’t come off but at least you still enjoyed your evening. My Mum will sometimes turn up unannounced and tell Hubby and I to go out for the evening whilst she looks after the Beans. We really appreciate it xx

  3. Sounds like you still managed to have a nice evening, even though you didn’t do the crazy zip wire! *very brave* The cocktails look lush and Banoffee Pie is one of my mummy’s favourites! Shame about the mad Christmas parties and this sometimes puts my folks off going out at this time of the year. You’re lucky to have such a good baby sitter 🙂 what a novel idea from Mama & Papa’s x

  4. Glad you had a great time. It’s important for all parents to get some time away from the kids now and then. Shame you didn’t get to do the zip wire. I wanted to read what it’s like. X

  5. So glad you got to escape and have a night out for yourselves. We all need one of those every now and again. We have POD at her in-laws for a couple of days after she breaks up so maybe we’ll make it out. We didn’t last time – such a waste!
