EYFS Resources was first set up to provide childminders with paperwork and resources, basically to lighten their work load. They did the work so the childminder didn’t have to and few months ago they launched their website – www.eyfsresources.co.uk and we are soon to launch our Membership Group.
Since its launch EYFS Resources has grown rapidly thanks to its unique daily collaboration with the industry. After all who understands better the hurdles of the professional childcare provider than another professional childcare provider? As the pre-school field changes rapidly EYFS Resources remains committed to delivering everything that a competent practitioner needs. It continues to go from strength-to-strength not just through its development of early years products but from its ability to offer expert nursery business advice, accountancy and training opportunities.
Their products, particularly our Resource Packs have become popular with Homeschoolers and Parents as well as Early Years settings and as a Childminder I was keen to try them out for myself and we were sent The Christmas Pack and Elfis’ Christmas Travels to try.
I am currently helping out in our local pre-school so I took the packs in with me to see if the children enjoyed them. The resources are perfect for displays and as visual aids and the activity sheets can be photocopied for multiple use.
Included in the Christmas pack is:
- ‘Christmas Planning Sheets’
- ‘The Nativity Scene’ – Foam Backed and laminated for display use. complete with nativity figures for the children to cut out and stick on (Velcro provided)
- ‘Christmas Pudding Number Cards’ – Laminated number cards for display or educational use.
- ‘Santa Acrostic Poem Activity Sheet’
- ‘Our Exciting Plans For Christmas’ – to share and discuss with the children and have on display for parents and visitors to see the fun activities that you have planned this Christmas.
- ‘Mark Making Activity Sheets’ – pen control, colourings, mark making, creativity with a ‘Dear Santa’ and a Design A Present’ sheet
- ‘Colouring Sheets’
- Christmas Themed Playdough Mats’ – thickly laminated to be used alongside the children
- ‘Christmas Counting Activity Sheet’
- ‘Christmas Images/Threading
- ‘Christmas Matching Game’
- ‘Christmas Threading Cards’
- ‘Christmas Recipe Cards’
- ‘Christmas Size Sorting Sheet
- ‘Christmas Flash Cards’
- ‘Christmas And Nativity Keyword’
- ‘Christmas Songwords including ‘Away in a Manager, Jungle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’
I love the fact that the sheets have the area of learning on them which makes it simple to fill in the learning diary’s and the children really enjoyed learning the songs from the sheets. The play doh activities are perfect for ages 2-5. The more able children were able to follow the patterns and the less able children just pressed play doh onto the shapes.

The Elfis pack is the smaller of the two but personally it is mine and the kids favourite. You can use Elfis as an Elf on the Shelf and hide him around the home or Nursery and the kids have to find him. Sebastian loves the size sorting sheet and is actually really good at it too.
We haven’t tried all the activities yet but now have a good two weeks of fun Christmas activities planned. All the activities come in reusable plastic wallets and will be saved to use for years to come. Priced at £18.99 and £9.99 respectively they don’t break the bank either!
What a terrific resource. I imagine my childminder is already aware of it but I’ll mention it to her anyway.
This sounds brilliant and definitely something my niece would love, so ive emailed your post to my Sister-in-law thank you x
This looks fab, my friend is a childminder and she raves about eyfs x
This sounds so good. It’s something I need to look into. I wasn’t aware of the resource so thanks so much for sharing.
This looks amazing, and there is just so much stuff in there. And they are such good value for money too!
What great resources and such good value too. I’ve spent so much time in the past resourcing things like this it’s so handy when it all comes together in reusable packs.

Fab resources – I’ll pass this info onto my sister for my niece, as this will be great for her.
What a fab resource. I love anything that encourages creativity and play in kids

Oooh these look so brilliant, I love resources like this, even if I am not great at doing them! Kaz
This sounds like a great idea and such a big help to parents. I searched for similar things in the past but it never quite fits
I love this set and how it supports early years practitioners with their their Chrsitmas activities. What a great idea
This is brilliant – just the sort of thing my two would love.
What brilliant sounding sets and actually I’m surprised at how reasonable the costs are with them. Such a great resource.
