HEXBUG AquaBot™ Jellyfish Review

18 months ago during my birthday visit to London, Isaac was introduced to HEXBUG thanks to a boy playing with one in the hotel. Since then our collection of HEXBUGS have gone from strength to strength and we have an impressive array of robot insects, so it was no surprise when he announced he wanted the latest in the long line of cute gadgets – the AquaBot™ Jellyfish.

Loaded with smart fish technology, this new Jellyfish will amp up the action of your robotic aquarium with its vibrant inner glow and 15 pre-programmed swimming routines. Watch as the Jellyfish uses its 18 tentacles and powerful engine to spin and swim gracefully as it explores its new home.

Want your Jellyfish to dive deeper? No Problem! For the first time ever, users can adjust the HEXBUG AquaBot’s™ buoyancy using adjustable weights in battery door.

We have ours in a fish tank which has been decorated with gravel and shells we found at the beach. It is definetely easier than keeping real fish and you just agitate the water to get it working.

I have to admit it doesn’t swim as well as the HEXBUG AquaBot™ Jellyfish video, but the kids enjoy watching it. I do wonder if it is because it doesn’t have a perfectly flat surface to power off from. I did try and remove a weight to see if that helped, but Isaac lost the tool you need to open the casing.

We also received the HEXBUG AquaBot™ Seahorse which Seahorse uses its curly rubber tail and elegant back fin to gracefully swim and bounce around inside any fish tank which works better.

HEXBUG AquaBot™ Jellyfish and Seahorse are available in 5 translucent colours and has an RRP of £14.99
