Jord Wooden Watch Review

Have you every considered buying a wooden watch?

I have seen wooden watches at craft fairs but had never really considered owning one until now.

The team at Jord Wooden Watches contacted me and offered me a watch to review. As my husband is the main watch wearer in the family as he needs it for work, I opted for the Delmar style in a dark sandalwood with a deep iris blue face.

The natural dark sandalwood is hand finished and pre-treated with tung oils, has a double locking fold-over clasp and the face is made with scratch resistant mineral glass.

It is worth remembering that the Delmar is a dress watch and is only splash-proof and should not be submerged in water.

Jord watches are based in the USA so be aware that if you are ordering one as a gift that orders take around 14 days to be delivered. You can download a wrist measurement tool which is easy to print and use, to make sure the watch arrives with a perfect fit, or use a tape measure to measure the wrist.

Our watch arrived within 10 days of ordering and arrived beautifully packaged in a wooden box with plenty of bubble wrap to protect it in transport.

The watch is stunning, both in quality and design and it is a lot lighter to wear than a traditional metal based watch. It was easy to set the correct time and displays hours, minutes and seconds. Both my husband and I love the deep chocolate colouring of the sandalwood which fit like a dream, but found the blue was not quite as bright as it appeared on the website.

Hubby has been wearing this watch for a couple of weeks now and has received lots of positive comments about it, with many people surprised that it is actually made of wood.

The Delamar watch costs $149 which translates to £96 on the current exchange rate which is very reasonable for such a striking, good quality watch.

I may have dropped a few hints to Hubby about wanting one for myself now!

  1. I adore wood, we have lots of wood in our house but I have never actually seen a wooden watch before. It’s beautiful, a very masculine looking watch. I may have to pop over and find a nice ladies one to go on my Xmas list too!

  2. I’ve seen a few of these wooden watches and I love them! I would be worried about accidentally getting it submerged though, but I guess as long as you are careful it is ok! The man’s watch is really nice, I’ve only seen women’s before today.
