Pacapod Idaho and Toddler Changer Pod Review

It seems odd now that Sebby is almost two to start reviewing changing bags, however, not only are they brilliantly practical for carrying around all the paraphernalia that come with a toddler and a pre-schooler, they are super practical for adventurous days out too.
PacaPod baby changing bags are designed with adventure in mind so of course I gave the Idaho bag we were sent to review a real road test by using it as my cabin bag on our recent holiday to Turkey. Pacapod bags have a unique 3-in-1 organiser that last way beyond the nappy stage and I found them invaluable for storing goodies for our 4 hour flight.

The Idaho is a hobo style bag but with a PacaPod makeover.  The soft slouchy style doesn’t look like a changing bag at all and Abbey (my 22 year old) tried to steal borrow it as soon as she spotted it. It comes with two organised pods inside to ensure you never lose anything in the bottom of your bag!

The Idaho bag comes with the Flat pack Changer Pod and a Flat pack Feeder Pod which is a handy cool bag plus a padded baby changing mat which was perfect to using when we had a slight nappy emergency on the plane. The genius part of the pods is that the pods can be flat packed and the 3-in-1 pod system does its work to keep everything organised for outings with children you can go about your day in confidence.

This easy-going, wearable style has a thick luxurious strap which helps the bag hug the body, moulding perfectly to your side or you can use the pram attachment clips to attach it to your pram.  The bag is made with a silky smooth microfiber outer, vegan leather trim, premium Silver hardwear but most importantly it has a wipe clean inner and is phthalates free, tested to EC & BS food standards.

The main compartment is spacious (8 litres) even when the two pods are filled with the children’s essentials and the handy pockets on the front have clip fastening with a mobile pocket and key fob.  Whilst we were away it easily converted to a beach / pool bag with room for towels and a change of clothes.

I love all the features of the bag and the pocket on the front is handy for me to keep my phone and keys so they are easy to find. The insulated feeder pod has been invaluable for keeping our drinks and snacks cool on days out and because the pods are different designs I know which one I need to grab if we need a nappy change or food.

Sebastian also has the Toddler Changer Pod which he used as his bag on holiday.  It is a small children’s backpack, perfect for toddlers as it changes from a lightweight mini changer pod to a toy pod when required, with the addition of safety reins to give you peace of mind.

The Changer Pod fits into the back of your PacaPod as part of the system or can also be worn as a mini rucksack with the trendy animal prints and cute ears! Ours was invaluable on holiday as Sebby’s bag for childcare and I managed to pack nappies, baby wipes, swimwear, sunscreen and his hat. The detachable safety strap is great for my independent toddler who insists on walking everywhere and gives me peace of mind in busy car parks, high street shopping and when crabbing at the waters edge.

The Back pack has straps with chest strap to stop it slipping off wiggly shoulders and it also has a webbing strap to attach to pram or inside changing bag, and a top carry handle. Despite its small size it has 4 handy pockets to keep your essentials separate and you can personalise with a photograph at the front.  Sebby prefers seeing George Pig peering through though.

  1. Sounds like a very versatile bag. I know I still use my nappy change bag as it’s the perfect size for my daughter’s laptop! (my youngest is 4)

  2. Both bags sound like they hold loads of stuff and came in very useful indeed. It’s nice when changing bags can last beyond the baby and toddler stages.
