Konfidence UV Suits Review

Living on the coast means we spend a lot of time at the beach in the summer and there are two things that I would never be without – UV swimwear and sun cream!

Protection from the sun started when I was a child.  I have very pale skin and just a few minutes in the sun would cause me to burn, so have always covered myself up as it is the best way to prevent sun damage for all ages and I have carried this on to my children.  It seems being #sunsmart is finally the cool thing to do and Konfidence have a great range of sun protection swimwear that we got to try out on holiday in Turkey.

For little ones like Sebastian who detests standing still whilst you put sunscreen on them, the UV all in one suits are the perfect solution as they have full length sleeves and ¾ legs so there is less exposed skin, giving you a better chance to apply that sunscreen before they start to fidget!  The suit is made from the highest quality soft Lycra, which has been rigorously tested for colour fastness and durability and the fabric stretches and moves with him as he runs or swims.

All the sun suits in the range, from 0 to 7 years feature the latest UV colour changing technology – when UV rays are present, the Konfidence logos on the suits will turn pink (girls suit) or blue (boys suit). So when they are busy happily playing on the beach or in the pool you’ll instantly know when the suit is protecting them from harmful UV rays. Plus this safety feature is also a fun way to teach your little ones about sun safety as it will bring smiles to their faces when the colour starts to change!

For Isaac and Eliza the suits come in two pieces – the sun protection t-shirt which also features full length sleeves that give that little extra bit of protection, and the coordinating shorts plus legionnaire style hats in Pink Hibiscus and Blue Leaf Palm designs.

The two-piece suits give you slightly more flexibility as you can wear the t-shirt with shorts or a skirt when playing in the garden, but we found both perfect for their sailing and windsurfing sessions as well as for messing about in the pool.

Isaac, Eliza and Sebastian had a fabulous time whilst we were away and I was happy and confident that they were well protected from the sun as well as looking smart.  Eliza especially loved the colour changing badges too – pink is a very important colour when you are four!

Remember, it is still important to use sun cream and keep out of the sun when it is at its strongest – be #sunsmart this summer.

  1. Oh I do love these Kara, sunsuits are just the best. They’re brilliant for POD too as she’s not a fan of suncream being smothered over her entire body! Really like Konfidence, she wore their float jackets in Greece 🙂
