Now that Spring is here I have been having a bit of a clear out. All my nursing wear has gone to new homes, clothes that have seen better days has gone to be recycled and some of the kids clothing has been listed on eBay.
Hubby doesn’t like me throwing out his old and tatty clothes, he can be very protective over that old transformers t-shirt that has been shrunk to an unwearable size with the picture is so faded that you can barely see what it represents, but enough is enough……..the old, misshapen, faded t-shirts are going!
The last time hubby purchased clothing for himself was back before his trip to Las Vegas for his friends 40th in 2013 (yes I am still smarting that it was boys only) and even that is starting to look like it has seen better days, so a shopping trip is in order.
We are both over 40 now, so high fashion is not for us, but we do like to have some key pieces that are on trend and can stand the test of time and I was pleased to find out that stripes are big news for this season.
I do love stripes but it is worth remembering that different stripes will have different effects on your overall size and shape. Horizontal stripes tend to make you look wider by breaking up the vertical silhouette, while vertical stripes draw the eye down quickly, giving the illusion of length/height.
With this in mind, vertical stripes work better on hubby, so when I was approached by House of Fraser to find out how Hubby will be dressing based on the spring / summer trends this season I chose the Thomas Pink Latitude Striped Shirt in blue for him to wear.
What I love about the shirt is that you can wear it as both a long and short sleeved shirt so you can take it from cooler days to hot. By rolling up the sleeves you reveal a hot pink striped cuff which takes the shirt from a smarter look to a more casual one.
The striped shirt also features cheeky Fox logo embroidery – cue the kids singing “what does the fox say” and is made from 100% cotton for softness and comfort. It irons like a dream too!
Now I just need to drag him around the shops to find some new jeans!
What a great looking shirt – I wonder if I could get Ash into one. Hmm x
I love the shirt, my other half has one similar! It looks very smart!
what a smart shirt , he does look dapper
