Mario Party 10 Review

We have loved the previous incarnations of Mario Party on the Wii and DS so you can imagine the excitement when we received Mario Party 10 to review on the Wii U.

Mario Party just got bigger and better as Bowser crashes this latest Mario Party.  Now you can play as Bowser himself and face off against up to four others playing as Mario and friends.

The game is based on rolling the dice and travelling round the board, competing against each other.  Nintendo sent us a fabulous party pack with a giant cardboard dice which the kids had a ball with as we waited for the game to download.

In Bowser Party minigames, one player gets to be the fire-breathing Bowser as he tries to burn, bonk, or blast other players away. Up to four players use Wii Remote controllers to cooperate and survive as they confront the Bowser player, who is using the Wii U GamePad. It’s four against one, and being a party pooper has never been so much fun!

Once the kids have finally agreed who is going to be Bowser and the game starts, there are squeals, shrieks, giggles and shouting as they battle.  One of the favourite moves is Bowser’s Bad Breath, where Bowser player moves the GamePad around to aim and shoot fireballs at the other players whilst they attempt to dodge them.

With 70 mini games along the way there is lots of fun and competition to be had and the game is compatible amiibo so you can add extra levels to the game play too including the scratchcard feature that Isaac adores as you can win more money! We have promised to get Eliza Princess Peach so she can be a girl player!

If you are after a game that will get the whole family involved then this is for you……..be prepared for lots of giggling, shouting and getting beaten by the youngsters!

  1. I remember when Mario was created – blimey, that makes me feel old! It’s great to see the characters still entertaining children now and this latest game sounds like lots of fun. Makes me wish we had a Wii.

  2. This is pretty darn awesome!!! My brother used to love Maria – He’s a big grown man now but its awesome to see ‘retro’ toys still popular. You little ones look like they are having a great time.
