Anyone that knows me will tell you I am the most uncrafty person you could meet. If I need a job doing, whether it be repairing a zip or making curtains I always rope someone else in to do it. It’s even a struggle to hem hubby’s trousers or sew Isaac’s beavers badges on, so when Hobbycraft contacted me to see if I would like to make my own Christmas Wreath I nearly said no!
This year I made a promise to myself that I am going to try things that I would normally not do, so I thought I would give it a go and if it turned out rubbish I would blame the kids.
I did have visions of me weaving branches into a circle so when my package arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find that making a Christmas Wreath actually meant just decorating a ready made one – surely even I could do that!
In the package was a pre-made artificial wreath, a pack of ribbons, a silk rose and a gold pinecone type ornament. The ribbons were easy to attach by winding the pipe cleaner ends around the wreath, whilst the pine cone and silk rose just threaded through and I wrapped the stalks a couple of times to keep them in place.
I know its not a masterpiece but it is my masterpiece and I am really pleased with the result.
With Christmas wreath templates starting from just £3 it is a really inexpensive way of brightening up your front door this time of the year.
