We love family games and the perfect time to play them is during the Christmas holidays when there is lots of family around to join in and have fun.
With that in mind we were lucky enough to be sent three new games in the John Adams collection to try out.
Doh-Nutters was the firm favourite right from the start as it is so easy to play……..or is it? Will you be the first elephant to get all the donuts on your trunk?
Each players chooses a coloured mask and three donuts in the matching colour. The donuts are scattered on the playing board and the first person to collect all the donuts on his/her trunk is the winner.
The challenge in this game is not to use your hands and it was surprisingly difficult. The first donut is fairly easy but you risk dropping said donut when trying to pick up the next two. It is hilarious to watch and even more fun to take part in – I am sure there was cheating amongst the smallest people but I cannot be sure as I was too busy trying to collect my donuts!!
Next up was Pig Out. This was slightly more challenging as the kids attach their snouts and roll the dice before rooting around in the trough to pick up food with their snout.
This game requires you to build the “oinking” trough before you get started and I am pretty sure the kids were more interesting in getting it to make a noise than picking up the food. Once they got the hang of the game though it got really competitive and the first one to get four pieces of food was the winner.
The final game we were sent to review was Pig Goes Pop which I have reviewed on the blog previously, so I donated it to the school for wet play.
The game sees you stuffing the greedy pig with burgers whilst watching his belly get bigger and bigger – until it bursts open. It is still a favourite game to play here and I am sure the school will get lots of use out of it.
Oh have seen that doh nutters game….was thinking to get that. Looks fun!
These look fun; I was looking for a game for a present for some family and these look ideal as the ages are varied.
Betsy had dohnutters when she was little, so many giggles!

I love games like these and the kids love them too!
My boys adored Doughnutters when they were little – they used to go mad for it
My children are eyeing up a game called Gooey Louie for Christmas – you have to pull slime ‘bogeys’ out of his nose and it sounds gross. But Doh-nutters sounds like lots of fun and not as yucky!
