Kian and Isaac’s favourite film this year has to be LEGO Movie, so you can imagine their excitement when we were sent the 2-in-1 Castle Cavalry to review.
Keep a look-out for Lord Business’ robots from the castle tower with the soldiers and knights. Get the crossbow ready and prepare the mobile catapult on the ground. If you see the Micro Manager trying to grab the civilians, use your creative skills to convert the castle into the armoured Castle Cavalry. Take off and target the speedy, clawing menace with the crossbow, cannon, catapults, and flame flick missiles.
The Castle Cavalry playset is part of The LEGO Movie range of LEGO sets and features a mounted, turning crossbow, cannon, two catapults, and two flame flick missiles.
The alternative build castle includes lockable doors, crossbow, and skeleton bones, plus mobile catapult set. Included in the set are three minifigures: the knight, Sir Stackabrick; the soldier, Gallant Guard; and Where Are My Pants? actress, Sharon Shoehorn.
The Castle Cavalry set features a total of 424 pieces and is recommended for age 8-14 although Isaac did help Kian build this set.
I know LEGO is top of both Isaac and Kian’s lists for Christmas presents this year. I cannot wait to surprise the kids their LEGO Advent calendars. Kian has Star Wars, Isaac has LEGO City and Eliza has LEGO Friends.
There is something in the LEGO range to suit everyones pockets, from pocket money Mixels, with nine new unique characters to collect from the three tribes, Gloop Corp, Spikels and Wiztastics to the new Ultra Agents, which comes with a free app where the kids can accomplish challenging missions and read a six episode interactive graphic novel!
There is only one LEGO series that Kian is after now – Minecraft! We had a sneak peak at the sets in the Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester and, as with all LEGO sets, it does look amazing!
Oh my two love lego and I see that there is Minecraft lego too, which I know they will love, so I know what will be under the tree for them this year!

The minecraft ones look fab- debating whether Max is too grown up for it!
