Family Friendly London Days Out

I have to admit that from past experience I don’t find London particularly family friendly.

Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of activities for the whole family to do, it’s the travel part I find stressful, with tubes being the particular bane of my life.  How people with children manage to get around with buggies I just don’t know.

That being said, there are lots of attractions I want to take my children to see so need to take a big breath and risk the tube for!

Ripley’s London is known as the place where truth really is stranger than fiction! Located just off Piccadilly Circus, Ripley’s London is a family attraction that’s open all year round and like nothing else you’ve ever seen as it houses hundreds of exhibits that will leave you open-mouthed and speechless.   I think the kids will love exploring the myriad of interactive exhibits, including their brand new graffiti wall, the black hole tunnel, the LaseRace and the Mirror Maze.

The O2 Climb is top of the list for the teens and I have to admit I quite fancy doing it myself – just imagine the view.  The other view I want to take in is the Shard, although I am not sure the kids would be quite so excited.

The Science Museum we did it this year, but the kids loved the interactive experience so much they are desperate to go back!

The one place we seem to miss whenever we visit is the Tower Of London and I think the whole family will enjoy it.  We did plan to go a few weeks ago to see the poppies but sadly a demonstration just outside the tube station put pay to that idea.  Isaac has been learning all about the UK at school and has suddenly developed a real thirst for the history of England and London in particular, whereas Eliza is Princess mad and will be excited to see the crown jewels.

With the free museums aplenty, the London Eye, Madam Tussauds, Seal Life Centre, London Zoo and much more to see the kids will never be bored, although I am sure mine would be happy to stay in M&M World all day!

Where do you like to take the kids in London?
