Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Chair Review

We are big fans of the new Fisher Price Smart Stages™ technology, an exciting new way to change learning content as baby grows. Every baby develops at their own pace, and Smart Stages™ gives you the ability to select the stage that’s best for your child!

We were sent the Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Chair to review and we couldn’t wait to try it.

Unlike the Fisher Price School Bus and the Smart Stages Train we reviewed previously, we were disappointed that the Smart Stages Chair didn’t come with batteries, so I had to send Kian up to the shop whilst I built the chair.  It was fairly straight forward to put together, although I did put the rear legs on before realizing I needed to take them back off to insert the batteries.

I was initially concerned that Sebby might fall out of it as he isn’t quite walking yet and uses everything to hold on to as he cruises past, but the wide base on the chair keeps it steady.  I was really surprised that he manages to climb in and out with no issue too, but it’s so low to the floor that if he did lose his balance he wouldn’t hurt himself.

This “magic” ABC seat knows when baby sits, activating songs and phrases when baby stands. Simply press the light-up remote or flip book pages to hear numbers, shapes and more and by lifting the cushion to reveal more fun surprises.

Fisher Price Smart Stages™ Chair

When you switch the chair on, you input your child’s age.  The chair talks you through this and you simply choose the colour coded button which most suits your child’s age and stage of development.  You may also manually change levels with a switch on the front of the chair.

  • Level 1 – Explore – 12M+ First words and sounds spark baby’s curiosity
  • Level 2 – Encourage – 18M+ Prompt baby though questions and simple directions
  • Level 3 – Pretend – 24M+ Imaginative fun and early role play

There are over 50 sing-along songs, tunes & phrases and with three levels of play which offer fresh songs, phrases & sounds for your little one’s age & stage they won’t get bored.

Sebastian adores lifting and putting the seat down over and over again as this activates songs & phrases.  The chair also features an illustrated flip-book & light-up remote control with buttons to press which teaches first words, numbers, shapes, colours and more.

The Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Chair has an RRP of £34.99 and is also available in pink.

  1. Aww this just brought back lovely memories. I bought one for Ella when she was little and she loved it. It’s been passed through about 3-4 different children now so it was well made and worth the money 🙂
