Are you up for White Christmas Dip 2014?

The White Christmas Dip is an annual charity Christmas morning swim held on the beach next to Boscombe Pier in Bournemouth, organised by Tom Baker and Family. Every year the dip begins on the beach, just to the right of Boscombe Pier, and finishes in the sea!

The Christmas morning swim is a fantastic excuse for a family outing and healthy sea air on Christmas Day.

The event has been running for 7 years now and, to date, both the number of people joining them in taking the plunge and the amount they have raised has doubled year on year.

Not only is it great fun for the swimmers and spectators, but the hardy souls that take part also raise much-needed funds for Macmillan Caring Locally, supporting the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch hospital, which is a Specialist Palliative Care Unit for patients in the local community made available around the clock 365 days a year.

The Christmas Morning Swim is open to all ages – all they ask is that participants give a minimum donation of £5.00, or swimmers can seek sponsorships from friends, family, employers and businesses.

The target figure they are aiming to raise this year is £35,000 with 600 brave men, women and children charging into the sea.

The White Christmas Dip is a family event and is in no way competitive – more a bit of fun for the family to get involved.  All they ask is for them to raise a little money and charge into the sea in fancy dress at 10:30am sharp on Christmas morning, and fully submerge their body…….. I have reliable information that some only submerge up to their knees ;0)

I realise this event is not for everyone, but if you are local they would really appreciate any support you can offer.  I am sure evening standing on the shoreline and screaming your support would be most appreciated.

For more information you can follow @WhiteXmasDip on twitter,  like them on Facebook or simply donate here!

GOOD LUCK!!!!
