I have been longing to decorate Eliza’s bedroom since she took it over after Isaac had it, but I never quite got round to it.
This room was blue when we first moved in and was decorated pink for Abbey. She left home at 18 and Isaac was a baby so it made sense that he had the small room and we decorated it lime green with some jungle wall stickers and it has been like that ever since, although it does have some pink curtains to make it a little more girly.
Eliza now shares her room with Sebastian so when choosing to redecorate I needed something unisex. I love wall stickers as they transform a room with a lot less effort than wallpaper and are easy to remove at a later date.
I was first introduced to Enchanted Interiors, makers of giant luxury wallstickers at a local baby show on Dorset and immediately fell in love with their products. The only problem I had was choosing which ones to go for as they are all stunning.
I finally decided on the large personalised Fox & Owls Woodland Wall Art Scene which features owls and up and coming trending animals “the foxes” which are all gathered around an Autumn Tree. The lamppost is personalised with both Sebastian and Eliza’s names.
The stickers were simple to order and take just 5 days to arrive. It is advised that you do not apply these wall stickers to freshly painted walls so we painted the walls in June, much to Eliza’s disgust as they were “white”. We actually painted them a cucumber colour, but after being bright green it didn’t really show at first.
If you have ever put wall stickers on the wall before, you will know they can be fiddly but these stickers from Enchanted Interiors are different. They come in easy to apply sections that go on the wall like a dream.
The stickers are printed using a premium self adhesive material which is made from white woven polyester fabric, which is extremely thin and of a very high quality which is tear and wrinkle resistant. The tackiness of the adhesive is enough enabling you to remove and reposition as many times as you like leaving no residue or damage to the surface.
Included in the scene were:
1 x Tree Size 71” tall x 71” Wide
1 x Tree Stump 8″ tall x 12″ Wide
1 x Personalised lamp-post “47” tall x 18″ Wide
1 x Sitting Fox 11″ tall x 12″ Wide
1 x Lying Fox 9″ tall x 14″ Wide
7 x Owls
60 x Leaves
18 x Acorns
6 x Flowers
2 x Mushrooms
The biggest item is the tree which took around an hour to apply. You are provided with instructions which are numbered to help you apply correctly. There is also a helpful picture guide too.
In fact it probably would have taken me slightly less time if I hadn’t been tweeting my progress as I went, but the whole process took 3 hours which included moving the furniture and toys in and out of the room.
The real benefit of wall stickers is you can arrange them how you choose. I have the tree on Eliza’s wall, the lamp-post on Sebastian’s and the animals and flowers dotted around the room. I am going to invest in the Owl Autumn Branch for Sebastian’s wall too as his looks a little bare in comparison to Eliza’s.
