Sicky Tricky Wacky Magic

The kids will turn their friends green with envy – and green with disgust (!)…  if you enter my latest competition to win them the UK’s Number One magic set, GROSS MAGIC from Drumond Park (8+, rrp £19.99).

Gross Magic

Kids today want magic with a bit of attitude, magic that’s not only cool, but a little bit rude, a little bit naughty even… The enormously popular and totally unique Gross Magic set features loads of truly revolting magic tricks for them to perform.  Conjuring feats that are guaranteed, with a bit of practice, to produce groans of nausea from their victims – sorry, audience.

Gross Magic

Those old-fashioned conjurors can keep their rabbits and red silk handkerchiefs – these tricks use a somewhat different class of prop:  snot, slime, dandruff, toenail clippings, cockroaches, squashed eyeballs, and more…

Gross Magic

As you will have guessed by now, these tricks are definitely not for the squeamish, or anybody who’s scared of creepy crawlies.  Come to think of it, some of these tricks are perfect for people who’re scared of creepy crawlies.

Gross Magic

As well as all these revolting ruses, Gross Magic also lets you do tricks with rubbish, toilet paper, sludge, soiled hankies, trained fleas (!), crunching bones and other foul creations (sick bag not included).  Don’t you just know these tricks are going to go down a storm at the family dinner table…

Gross Magic

I was particularly perturbed by the packet of cockroach eggs, but Kian was itching to get stuck in.  The instructions come in cartoon form which really appeals to him and there are some tricks that are easier than others.  The tricks do take a lot of practice and (unfortunately for me) Kian is starting to get the hang of it now.

  1. I don’t really like grand illusions, but I love slight of hand magic. So it would have to be card tricks.

  3. Cutting my assistant in half. Not that I’m bloodthirsty or anything, I really don’t want to cut anyone in half, just used to love watching Paul Daniels and guests on telly when I was young. Oh dear, a long time ago.
