A Magical Birthday

Isaac turned the grand old age of 5 last week, whilst we were on holiday in Disneyland Paris.

I was anxious about him having no presents with him as we just could not fit them in the suitcases, but we ensured we took his cards (and some badges), and lots of relatives gave him money to spend which we changed up for him before we left.  One of the cards came from the PR from Skylanders and was signed by all his favourite characters – he was over the moon with it!

Upon arrival at the hotel we booked a special character breakfast for him to attend that morning and a very special surprise for the evening.  The rest of the day was spent enjoying the parks.

The character breakfast was amazing.  He had no idea what to expect and was made up when he saw some of his favourite characters – Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale.  He wasn’t so keen on poor old Gepetto though.

They all spotted his badges and he got an extra fuss made of him and wrote special messages in his autograph book, which really made his (and our) day!

After breakfast had finished we headed into the park, and everyone continued to make a fuss of Isaac when they spotted his badges, which he made the most of!

We left the park at 5pm and headed off for his second surprise of the day.  We booked tickets to see Buffalo Bill’s Wildwest show in Disney Village.

When we arrived, we were given Cowboy Hats to wear and ventured inside into the Saloon.  Isaac got to meet Wild West Mickey and we were treated to a miniature show and live music in the Saloon before we were seated in the main arena.

I cannot recommend the show highly enough – it was full of good family entertainment with Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley, Chief Sitting Bull, The Wild West riders and of course some of our Disney favourites.  There was lots of audience participation to keep you entertained and the “Wild West” food was delicious.  We were served BBQ Ribs, Chilli, Chicken, Sausages, Potatoes and dessert was delicious Apple Pie and Ice Cream.

To finish the evening off, Isaac was presented with a Birthday Cake and all the staff sang Happy Birthday to him.  One of the clowns taking part in the show even came and wished him a Happy Birthday and gave him a high-five.

A birthday at Disneyland Paris = definite hit!!

  1. Kara, I don’t think it could be any more magic. I’ve always wanted to treat my children to a moment like this! So glad you got to do it with your sweet family. Thanks for leaving a lovely comment on my blog 🙂

    • Isaac is the perfect age, Eliza was a bit overwhelmed by a lot of it, but there are such good deals to be had where kids stay and play free that it was too good an offer to turn down!

  2. This looks amazing, and you have now made me hungry. You would recommend DLP for 5 year old birthday parties then?

  4. What a fab thing to do for his birthday! We absolutely love Disneyland Paris and spent my husband’s 30th there. Rather a long time ago… We’ve never done the Wild West Show before, maybe we will do that next time. I’m sure there will be a next time!

  5. I love Disneyland. Really want to do the wild west show – have skipped it before as it was so expensive and the kids were little. Maybe next time. Glad you had a fantastic time x
