I do love to escape the house on New Years Day, and this year especially as the weather had been so wet and windy that we had not really ventured outside the house for over a week.
The weather was beautiful, if a little chilly, so we headed down to Bournemouth beach to blow the Christmas cobwebs away.
After laying there for what felt like forever, they turned their attention to the surfers who were bobbing about in the sea, awaiting their perfect wave.
We watched in awe as some of the surfers managed to stand up on their boards, and chuckled at the ones that promptly fell off (not that I could do any better).
We got to the end of the Pier and discovered that the rides which are there in the summer had been removed, which the kids weren’t too impressed with, so we ventured back down the other side and this time watched the Paddle Boarders in action…….
Posed for a silly photo…….
There really is nothing like a stroll by the beach, even in the winter!!
Looks like a brilliant winters day out! We saw surfers in November and i froze just watching them 🙂
I know they are wearing wetsuits, but it really was bitter as there was quite a wind blowing
I live by the beach too, always great to blow the cobwebs away! Looks like you all had fun!
Sounds lovely!
